Beckham in a speedboat.

He basically said "I know nothing, but I'm prepared to be guided by a figment of my imagination" and was cheered to the echo.

Yes. Basically.

We could be doomed as a species.

How long before something like this happens at one of the free schools run by Gove's fundie mates?

Quote:
In a Louisiana public school, female students who are suspected of being pregnant are told that they must take a pregnancy test. Under school policy, those who are pregnant or refuse to take the test are kicked out and forced to undergo home schooling.

Major foot-shooting moment as Romney team respond to Obama attack on healthcare by citing his role in setting up health insurance scheme in Massachusetts. Gift for Democrats, Conservatives furious. Result!

They just cannot hide it.....

Romney’s new attacks on welfare sound a lot like racist comments from Reagan, Limbaugh

As someone else said, it's remarkable how these people have no problem accepting the science behind nuclear fission (unless they believe it's the hand of God) but can't buy mathematics.

As for point 7, perhaps a USA-dweller can help. Events such as the Bonus Army and their march on Washington seem massive and dramatic, but also seem to have been cut from the 'official' version of US history as presented to the outside world. Is this the case within the US, and what are people's thoughts on why that is?

This news just in: Jesus wants you to kidnap children - as long as their parents're gay!

Is Romney the worst political campaigner of all time?

Quote:
Meanwhile, an effort for multimillionaire Romney to seem more relatable to the average American took an odd turn Tuesday.

The former Massachusetts governor has made his love for fast food well-known on the campaign trail but his story about childhood trips to McDonald’s doesn’t exactly align with most customers of the chain.

Speaking to an audience in Chicago, Romney said as a young boy he looked through his father’s dresser drawers. There he found that his dad, former Michigan governor George Romney, had a card entitling him to free McDonald’s hamburgers for life.

“I found a little paper card, a little pink card, and it said this entitles George W. Romney to a lifetime of a hamburger, a shake and french fries at McDonald’s,” Romney said. “It was signed by the hand of Ray Kroc. My dad had done a little training lesson or whatever for McDonald’s when there was just a handful of restaurants, and I saw this thing and was like, ‘This is a gold mine, dad! What are you doing?’”

Kroc was the Illinois businessman who helped turn McDonald’s into one of the world’s most recognizable brands.

Romney said his father went to McDonald’s almost every day for a hamburger or a filet-o-fish sandwich.

“He would present this little card and, of course, the person behind the counter would look and say, well, what is that?,’” Romney said. “They’d never seen something like that, but he said it was never turned down. They always honoured it.”
