That's certainly a big picture.

Sorry.

They only started counting in Leeds this morning, but Labour are making gains all over the place - 10 so far.

Second round counting still going on in the Salford mayoral vote, but it should be a comfortable Labour win on second preferences. Lab picked up 46% in the first round with the Tory candidate on 17%. Greens could only scrape less than 3%, which is a bit disappointing. A Lab win was always nailed on, though. Lib Dems down in fifth place behind UKIP and left-leaning independent Pat Ward, who I thought came across pretty well tbf.

Ken is beginning to catch Boris on the live vote tracker. This could actually be quite close.

If you view the page source you can get the actual numbers; currently 44-40.

My hope is that of the 7 constituencies that haven't compleated the counting 5 are coming out quite strongly for Lab in the AM votes

Assuming Ken will get most of the second preferences from the Greens and Siobhan Benita and Boris will likely get the UKIP votes, it will probably come down to where the BNP and Lib Dem second votes go.

As for the assembly, Labour are currently on 41% to the Tories 32% with the Greens in third on 9%.

The ConDems got a right kicking in my ward (that's my electoral ward - not the one where I'm not allowed sharp objects).

They each got 323 votes - with UKIP getting more than their combined total with 655.

Oh yeah, Labour romped home.

Another interesting result from one ward in the affluent north-east of the city (these people had Keith Joseph as their MP for 30 odd years).

SOBEL Alex 3045 ELECTED Labour Party

HARRIS Mark Daniel 2265 Liberal Democrats

ROWLINSON Mark James 804 Conservative Party

In our locals (Greater London Assembly):

O'Connell (Cons) 60,152,
Woodley (Lab) 50,734 Swing of 14% to Labour from Tories.
Lock (Lib) 21,889,
McKenzie (UKIP) 10,757,
Ross (Green) 10,287.
Total vote 153,819

An excellent result for Louise Woodley who took a 42,000 Tory majority down to 9048.
