Is it worth having a bit of a research before this happens so we can immediately come back at anyone trying to do some trolling with a lump hammer of fackts

Good idea. The dead tree press has a large number of obituaries prepared in advanceand ready to roll.
I remember the day Harold Wilson died (I was new to the staff at a newspaper), word went around that we were doing a pul out for the night's publication.
I winced at the prospect of getting stuck in work till midnight, but the lot was done in about 45 minutes.

So having a Thatcher obituary prepared in advance is merely "best practice".
The results will carry a lot more impact than having 10,000 people all randomly twittering when the news breaks.

Who'd be up for editing something together?
We could coordinate our work offline.

I don't hate her, I pity the fools that believed in her.

You are of course quite right, Mr Manchester comrade. Why stop despising Thatch simply because she is on the verge of the way of all flesh?

I fucking hate the old witch still.

I finally got hold of (another) second hand copy of Were You Still Up for Portillo today. It's hard to read without shedding a tear for the memory of THAT night and the sheer, overwhelming happiness and hope it seemed everyone was feeling. Then it makes you hate Tony Blair just a little bit more.

For a few brief weeks in the summer of 97 I also thought things were going to get better and we had emerged into broad sunlit uplands again from the dark abyss of Thatcher/Major, we even won the Eurovision Song Contest too!

Then it all turned to shite again.....

I don't pity them - I hate them every bit as much if not more than I hate her. From here you didn't expect anything except victimisation. They were supposed to be on our side. They'd reaped the benefits of universal education, the Welfare Stare, the NHS and employment protection legislation. They repaid us by scabbing through strikes, sneering that their unemployed neighbour didn't want to work, voting in a government that kept us on our knees, buying a newspaper that called us the enemy within, destroying building societies and public utilities for the sake of a few poundsworth of shares, looking down at everyone they thought was below them because they now owned their house and had sixpence in the bank.

Thatch has now apparently approved the arrangements for her State Funeral.

As Jimmy Carr tweeted "Great. Now that's sorted out, let's get on with it."
:D :) :D :) :D
