That should be easy enough to rig with the help of a monster salami. "Beat that David, fucking get a grip on that beauty! Careful now, you'll need both hands". :)

In these troubled times we need more cross-party consensus.

I saw various police figures on the news last night angry at Cameron's decision to bring in Bill Bratton. I was hoping one of them would ask if Cameron would be open to the idea of someone else being brought in to run the country instead.

I don't see why Bratton shouldn't advise. I know it's always "let's get in this American" but he does seem to have a lot of experience of one facet of the problem.

Still you never get "European brought in who knows about teenage pregnancy" or whatever.

The argument seems to be that using Los Angeles as a model misses the point, and that there are Europeans with similar expertise in a European context. No reason why he shouldn't advise, but we should be very cautious about just taking on his recommendations willy nilly. After all, the US models are working so well in health and education...

Comments are now up on the Mail's David Starkey article:

The truth always causes an 'outrage' with the Lefties, they are in complete denial, whilst to us regular folks Starkey is only stating the blooming obvious.

I can well understand the baffled fury of the Tweeters against David Starkey's comments. After all, they and their Opinion Manipulator, the BBC, had imagined that they had 'won' the argument after all these years of savaging and vilifying anyone, who dares to express an opposite opinion to their own.

What are you talking about? The remarks were broadcast on the BBC for fuck's sake!

Spot on. One of the reasons why I left the multicultural hell hole of Britain which has been destroyed by years of left wing PC social engineering and bankrupted by a corrupt psudeo communist labour party under the stranglehold of Gordon brown & his henchmen.

I meant on the specific issue of dealing with well-established gangs, which is what I thought he was advising on.

Unlike the calm and reasoned arguments of Mailite's and Mail columnists (well everyone who contributes to any right wing tabloid in any form) when met with an opinion that differs from theirs. Well known for their rational debating methods are the right wing.

Scientific study from 2007 found conservatives to be more knee-jerky when it came to dealing with conflict;

Study finds left-wing brain, right-wing brain

Quote:
Participants were college students whose politics ranged from "very liberal" to "very conservative." They were instructed to tap a keyboard when an M appeared on a computer monitor and to refrain from tapping when they saw a W.

M appeared four times more frequently than W, conditioning participants to press a key in knee-jerk fashion whenever they saw a letter.

Each participant was wired to an electroencephalograph that recorded activity in the anterior cingulate cortex, the part of the brain that detects conflicts between a habitual tendency (pressing a key) and a more appropriate response (not pressing the key). Liberals had more brain activity and made fewer mistakes than conservatives when they saw a W, researchers said. Liberals and conservatives were equally accurate in recognizing M.

Refer this to Ed West. He once tried a "why do liberals believe stupid things?" article. Apparently they only knock around with people like them.
