When you live here, there is no hope of democracy !

You've the Greens there. What you complaining about?

My friend was in this constituency in 2005:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erewash_(U ... nstituency)

3 main parties, Veritas, BNP, UKIP, Monster Raving Loony and Church of the Militant Elvis.

The reality being, unless you vote Tory you are pissing into the wind.

Yeah but you can vote for someone who's OK.

My mate had to vote for Geoff Hoon's PPS.

Lib Dems beaten into fifth place in my ward, 19 votes behind the Green candidate. Wiped out across Manchester and Salford as well, and it looks as if they've even taken a beating in Rochdale, which has traditionally been a happy hunting ground for them. Arf. Fucking jokers.

I voted for the bastards at the last general election, thought about voting green but went for the Lib dems. I didn't like the lib dems at the time but round here it makes no difference who you vote for because it's such a safe Tory seat.

Never voting for them again though, next time i'll either vote green or just spoil the paper.

No point in spoiling the paper, vote Labour and register your vote against, even if you lose.
Tactical voting in that sense is now dead.

Violins!! At the ready! Wait for it, wait for it, no sniggering at the back, this is a solemn occasion.

Excellent opportunity to dress rehearse the Roberts/Thatcher state funeral.

Michael Oakeshott is one of the better ones, to be fair to him.

Sort of like Vince Cable on economic policy before Cable joined the government. Oakeshott walked out.
