Surprisingly good on "Ask Rhod Gilbert" tonight.

Not normally a fan of politicians following the TV celeb career path after they're done with serious politics, but Prezza made a good job of this.

He's been good on phone hacking. Despite all the "you had an affair" bollocks it brings up again.

Agreed. I didn't even hear him stumble on his words.

Agreed. Shame he wasn't as good with his presentation when he was in power. I suspect he doesn't respond well under pressure and nobody's asking him tough questions any more.

Edited cos I'm a grammar Nazi, especially with myself.

Am I alone in wondering if Prescott was three quarters pissed on Andrew Neil's show? I think he was slurring and a bit random at times, more than usual anyhow.

And how bulbous is Portillo's nose? Thank fuck I don't have 3D. [/bodyfascism]

I thought Prescott was very coherent actually, for him.

I agree about Portillo's nose though. It's really enormous in real life, (I bumped into him on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway when he was filming his railway series). It came round a corner suddenly and nearly took my eye out.

I like Prescott and share many of his opinions and enjoy his unpolished presentation, much like I enjoy watching Alex Salmond and Charles Kennedy. I still think he showed up having had one shandy too many and had a coffee poured into him though. He had that 'working at looking sober' quality about him as he perched on the sofa.

He was coherent in his content but the speech was a bit laggy perhaps.

On Prescott - I used to know an asylum seeker from what was once part of Yugoslavia, the son of a politician who became unpopular in a hurry. He rang me one day having just seen Prescott thump someone in the mouth wanting to know how politics was done over here.

I watched Prescott on top gear being grillied by Clarkson in an environment with a clarkson audience.

Although Prescott definitely was a politician, his points were sound.

Video if you're curious

According to this article, John Prescott doesn't drink. Sorry to disappoint and all.

Huffing solvents it is then. Or he has had a mild stroke that has gone undiagnosed. Everyone I watched that show with commented on his slurred speech, googly eyes, droopy expression and slightly disjointed input.

Perhaps he is just very unfortunate in the looks department? :)
