Credit to the five Lib Dem MPs who rebelled. The rest of them can go and fuck themselves. I really hope that party gets another tonking in the locals come May.

Andrew George
David Ward
John Pugh
Greg Mulholland
Adrian Sanders

George, Sanders, Ward and Mulholland are very frequent rebels. Hope they are among the few to keep their seats.

Ta. Not Tom Brake, then?

What a massive surprise - he's another neo-lib entryist, to the right of most Tories we now discover...

It wasn't one of his 3 rebellions (out of 410 votes), no.

So, are we all now royally frakked by the bullheaded cockface that is Lansley?

There are pretty low expectations for the bill. Watch the "look! the world hasn't ended!" media fightback.

Is this "Look! The world hasn't ended.... but we're all on fire, bald and sterile" or "Look! The world hasn't ended... and Waitrose is still open"?

As people have said on twitter, poll tax was revoked 6 months after being setup. However, I don't know if there's the widespread awareness and condemnation of these reforms that there was for the tax. Also, it's probably easier to stop charging a tax than to undo changes to the structure of a health service.

Precisely. After it has been sold off it would have to be bought back, and I very much doubt that any government would be able to afford that.

Yeah, exactly that.

Like Tim Lovejoy (quoted by Taylor Parkes in his review). "Look at the Glazers. You'd have thought they were going to sell Old Trafford to Tesco!"

Ah, no David Ward. But Martin Horwood rebelled. Apologies to him.

Newsnight have dug up Charles Clarke to do the "some in Labour are saying the state is unaffordable" bit.

And here comes Lord Butler to state the obvious and be told he's clever. Like, I imagine, he has his entire life.
