At the moment - 6-7. In five years, 8-9. By the time you need end of life care - 11.

A strong 7, and that's going on the optimistic assumption that Tony Benn storms the next general election at the head of a socialist coalition.

While the people fritter away the good things they were given by generations that did not think the fictional death of a TV character was the most important event of the day.
While enough remain healthy not to swing the vote. While enough stay in employment and get tax breaks (or think they do). While free newspapers act as propaganda sheets for Tories and the right-wing press subdues any public discourse.

I'm seriously thinking of staying in France. Even Sarkozy's better than the Lib Dems.

Simon Hughes is now speaking for the amendments to the health bill proposed by the Lords. He said that the bill has been immensely improved since it left the House of Commons to be considered by the House of Lords a year ago.

"The process of the bill has hugely improved it, " he said, noting that there had been 2,000 amendments in the last year.

Sounds more like they didn't fucking know what they were doing.

Jeez. This is just... ugh. I've been waiting for psych analysis for two years, I've largely not made any progress in that regard, and who knows what'll happen next? If this is in any way going to affect my possible treatment? I'm, well, lost for words.

My Mater is thinking the same to be honest, although moving back, rather than staying. I have to say I can see the advantages, although the Le Pen situation worries me slightly.

Don't forget that the vast majority of the cuts are yet to come and, as a result, social cohesion is likely to deteriorate even further over the next few years. It's no wonder the authorities are soiling themselves so much about the potential for disorder around the time of the Olympics and the jubilee.

Hughes always sounds like he doesn't know what he's doing. The simplest explanation for this is that he doesn't know what he's doing. He's also a lying, dissimulating bastard with a jelly spine and the conscience of a dysenteric amoeba.

I am also concerned, as a diabetic. My treatments are expensive, and at the moment fully funded. Not for long, I suspect (although I'm over 60, so get free prescriptions).

I suspect you are about to become non-urgent...

I've been waiting two years, most people get seen within months.

I don't think I've ever been "urgent".

I've been waiting for a CBT appointment for 18 months (and my anti-depressant dose has quadrupled during that time). I don't hold out much hope of being seen in the next 18, either.

"I'm clear that there is still a huge amount of concern among constituents which is partly because of misrepresentations and misunderstandings. This is not a privatisation bill or a carve up of the NHS bill."

Mr Hughes ... insists that the passing of the bill should not be a cause for celebration, but, "a challenge for the government to say we are willing to listen to health professionals and work with you," to ensure that health service continues to work efficiently.

If they really wanted to help, they'd pump all this time and money into improving services, hiring new staff and so on.

Ohhhhhhhh, wait, that would be sensible.

Voted Lib Dem. Next question?

I beg to differ Malcolm.
The correct answer is "Voted Tory".
It's a Tory policy driven by Tories and the majority of MPs and Lords who have voted this through are Tories.
Sure the Liberals have facilitated it, and I'm absolutely not absolving them of anything but, as the planners, the Tories are more far more culpable.

You can always have the Yank system....

Blue Cross praised employees who dropped sick policyholders, lawmaker says

Newborn with Birth Defect Denied Coverage

But hey. You cannot get a abortion.

When you are denied health insurance

When you have to trust capitalists to pay for your care (even though you are insured).

Woman Shoots Herself to Get Medical Care

Man Tries to Commit $1 Robbery To Get Health Care in Prison

Insurer Denies Life-Prolonging Treatment To Five-Year-Old Boy With Cancer

Or just the general drip of shit from the people who are supposed to be insuring me....

Of course, you may want to continue with the NHS is this is cheaper, overall, than the US system, which does not cover everyone. Cheaper when you look at it from the perspective of nearly all men, women and children in the UK.

However the Tories don't look at it from this perspective. How they are relishing the economic collapse, caused by the ineptitude of those in the capitalist system they support. They can now concentrate on the rich elite.

With the help of Dacre and Murdoch they will make the morons believe this is part of the fight against 'socialism'.

Sheesh..... Isn't idiocracy great?

Everyone in the coalition is equally to blame, from rabid free-marketeer fuck the poor Tories to once reasonable Lib Dems that may have consciences but suppress them in order to be as close to power as they will ever be. They can all fuck themselves equally hard.
