Do they not realise their every move is being scrutinised? This is the most attention they will ever get. Where is it going? I think it has to be some form of group hysteria.

They really don't see how utterly, utterly fucked they are, do they?

Everyone know the Tories are cunts, including the Tories. They just don't care because they're in it for themselves and if the money keeps coming there is nothign more to consider. But the LibDems were voted for because of principles. Their core voters are from an entirely different tranche of society and they will never vote for them again, regardless of how much they keep on with the business as usual routine.

I really can see UKIP getting parity, or overtaking them. The LibDems somehow seem to think they'll get 10% more than they will.

They know that whatever they do they're fucked, so they're clinging onto the Tories in the desperate hope that after the next election their support will be recognised with grateful thanks from their masters. Roy Lynk probably thought the same.

The one tiny glint of a good thing in this is that the government's epic shitness is pushing support for full devolution in Scotland. I'm off back there if it goes through on the basis that the SNP actually have some decent, progressive policies and seem to like the whole Scandanavian model.

Salmond's closeness to Murdoch unsettles me a bit, but on the whole I'm inclined to agree. At the moment, Britain doesn't really have much to offer other than endless neoliberal stagnation, deteriorating living standards for the majority and worsening social division. The problem is that those who are going to suffer most of all are those least able to up sticks and move somewhere that isn't a miserable right-wing shit tip.

I was thinking the same thing when the suggestion of regional pay came up. It can only encourage Scots to vote for independence. How Cameron can say he wants to keep the UK together baffles me.

As a little segue onto the independence topic, not many people seem to have considered how much better off Scotland could actually be in the Euro. An English-speaking, well-developed country that could act as a gateway for business into the Eurozone from the US (and other places) is huge. The large land-border and great trade infrastructure with England under GBP would only add to that.

They've thought of that by developing very few transatlantic airports (Have you seen Prestwick?) or deep water harbours north of the Border.

However given the NHS bill and then Today's budget, I can feel the loyalty to Britannia further weakening.
In England there is an opportunity for UKIP - but I doubt they have the good sense to exploit it.
The SNP are a whole lot smarter, and won't let this opportunity slip.

If you have not yet seen, the risk register has been leaked: http://origin.library.constantcontact.c ... ion-v1.pdf

Particularly of note are the concerns about loss of financial control, and the high risk of GPs going bust, which they have no way to mitigate.

Also to note - it's not verified to be true yet

"Liberating the NHS"? From whom?

From the people who care about it, delivering it into the hands of the people who want to milk it dry.

The public, presumably.

If true, surely now the real register must be published.

Someone has said it's an old draft.

That would be convenient, wouldn't it?
