Have any of the news outlets picked this story up?

I found this on tumblr
Quote:
studentgrrl:
“To Twitter: my joke last night was from an overprotective mother and would have been made if a WHITE man had been chatting to my daughter! And to those who don’t know, I had just been warned re a certain ladies man in the room!!!”
Nadine Dorries MP, trying to salvage [her shotgun] tweet.

After immediately insisting that she was not a racist (“Some of my best friends are Reg D. Hunter!”) she goes on to defend herself like this.
Although I suppose the belief that a woman’s sex life ought to be policed by her parents is to be expected from someone who wants to remove reproductive choice for the whole country.

Edit: I have now found an article in Luton Today.
http://www.lutontoday.co.uk/news/local/ ... -1-3833728
I can guess who'll be wanking themselves into frenzy over that story.
Only one comment so far:
Quote:

If a black woman had made the exact same comment about a m9iddle aged white man chatting up her daughter, would anyone have even thought she was being racist let alone said it? No of course not. These are the double standards PC has brought us. Equality is a pipe dream.

Now it might not be the same bloke, but Paul Ray (real name: Paul Cinato) was a Luton based founder of the EDL. It was his blog which Anders Breivik cited in his 'manifesto' as an inspiration. He fell out with the EDL because they were just too liberal for his tastes.

As a side issue Malc, if that's your iPhone try tweetbot - it's loads better.

She was so defensive in that blocking response, that she must have known deep down that she was been offensive.

After all, the tweeter only said that it might not be the wisest tweet ever...he didn't say anything about racism, so how did she know that's what he meant?

Maybe that's what she meant, her joke would make sense in the context of her being a hateful thicko, but we all knew that anyhow, maybe it just dawned on her.

Anyhow yet another "talent" in the party of many according to The Telegraph and Dave.

Ooops!

It seems as though Nad didn't quite press the delete button fast enough on this one.

There's only room in this camera lens for one of us!

Anyone got any popcorn?

Is there a thread on here for right-wingers vs right-wingers? About all we've got left to laugh at in this country.

On a serious note, 'Nad' I think would have waaay more traction among Tory grassroots (Cllrs, W.I.? Not to slander them or anything :o, church groups et al), given the age, and sort of harsh, old fashioned 'common sense' rhetoric she appears to espouse ("pregnant AND unmarried? There's homes up north for that sort of thing. There for the grace of God go I" etc.)
She may actually be the closest thing they have to a Maggie MkII in the eyes of some female supporters, who of course, a few generations ago, voted for Thatcher en masse purely because she was perceived by them as a patriotic matriarch sorting the country's housework out (I can remember hearing these these sort of views as a kid, and the mugs with her face on that they drank out of!).

The same sort of people would privately despise Mensch for her youth, bonkbusters, class A, and general limelight hogging and swift rise from nowhere, and I suspect she knows it, hence now she's out.

Start one. Might I be so bold as to ask Smanfa if she'll share her popcorn...

Mad Nad accusing *anyone else* of putting their own ambitions first is probably the most hypocritical thing we'll hear all year.

As for handing her seat to labour - that'll just be because the Tories are doing a shit job, Nad.

Generally speaking electorates take an MP resigning for what they see as no good reason as a bit of a personal affront.

Credit where it's due.
On Twitter this week Nadine posted very movingly about her experiences as a nurse when a 3 year old child she was caring for died without it's parents present. Seemed very genuine, the real person.

And then she made a stupid post about the young girl 'heckled' at the Labour Conference. When the true facts were pointed out to her she apologised, admitted she was wrong and said she should have ascertained the facts before Tweeting. Now none of that shows much nouse, but it's way different from the arrogant trash we put up with other Tory politicians (and some Labour ones - I'm looking in Tom Harris's direction).

Then she goes and Tweets:

Quote:
Nadine Dorries MP ‏@NadineDorriesMP

3 + 4D images of the life of a baby in utero has informed public opinion re late term abortion and moved opinon to 'time to drop the limit'

I've Tweeted her to ask how four-dimensional images are made, as if she's got some I'd be seriously impressed...

4d is being used to describe multimedia stuff (Special film theatres with wind machines and moving seats), and also time lapse sequences.
I'm pretty sure the visuals have to be 3d - the 4th dimension apparently being "a bit of special effects".
