I don't have any beef with Labour as such, except for B. Liar.

In fact, I would say out of those who have been PM since I was born, Brown is the one I respect the most and view as the most "Prime Ministerial". The alternatives are Thatcher (I think I was born just before/after her reign ended), Major, B. Liar, or Shinyface Cammers. I think.

Don't use 'B Liar' when referring to old weasel features, it's the mark of a Mailite Commentard - and we all know you're not one of them.

I'd vote Labour if they had a chance of removing Oliver Letwin but I really can't wait to see the likes of David Laws loose their seat. Liberal Democrats destroyed their chance of ever being a credible third party in this country and it's entirely their own doing.

You might consider that the present savage cuts are taking us back to the levels of service and provision of John Major's government. You can thank old Twatface for the improvements in between. He made some huge mistakes, but also did a great deal for society. Civil Partnerships for a start.

He was still a bit of a slimy git though, wasn't he?

But civil partnerships - why not go all the way? Equal but different 'n' all that.

Well, he might have been a slimy git, but he was our slimy git.

Because he couldn't. Politics is the art of the possible.

Please bear in mind I come from an anti-Labour house, ergo I'm prone to spouting ill-informed rubbish.

It's a rollercoaster which needs to start off slowly.
Social change is agonisingly slow sometimes, but like any change it will only succeed if people are behind it, try to go too fast, too soon and people get scared and want to get off.

Yes, a good analogy. Slow on the up and rapid once over the top.

This isn't looking good.

Tories and Lib Dems score by-election victories in marginals

Not sure how you can describe Waltham as a marginal looking at the figures, the Lib Dem one is a worry because it's in an area were Labour need to win if they are to win power while Broxbourne which takes Waltham in is truely safe Tory.

Fair enough.
