Just lately, the Mail has started calling everything from puppies to children 'adorable'.....do they get together and decide a certain word has to be used non stop after never being used or is it the same person with a fixation for the word?

Which toddler doesn't want to be a bin man? They drive a monster truck that goes past the child's house.

It comes across as *ever* so slightly patronising. But not as awful as their old habit of referring to items of female clothing as "Darling". "Here's some x-list sleb in a pair of DARLING shoes" etc. Gave me the shivers.

Nope. Someone used it on a Facebook feed I was reading today, and it was dead straight. It's a useful, good word.
Perhaps it depends on what you bring to it.
