I so hope that you're right about that.

Given Labour's current tendency towards trying to commit political suicide, I'm not sure how much conviction I've got.

Just been watching Question Time, and given the frequent need we often see to explain to some the difference between an "elected" and "unelected" Prime Minister, I thought people might be interested to know that Toby Young look-alike Ian Hislop seems to be surprisingly unaware of the difference himself.

In a discussion about the army, he said, in short: "...how about picking an elected leader, and then asking the army..." and so on.

Interesting idea, Mr Hislop.

How big a downer does Hislop have on Yvette Cooper? It's quite ridiculous.

Even George bloody Osborne was fairer and more courteous to her.

It was good to hear the loud boos and hisses at mention of Griffin. Shame about the sad, lonely little cheer.

Indeed. But the solitary cheer and applause got shouted at fairly quickly.

If that's the reaction to just the mention of his name, I don't envy whoever's going to have to handle crowd control in a couple of weeks.

How much do you reckon that the BNP telephone tree members'll be trying to pad out the audience?

Should be interesting. Looking forward to see who else gets brought out to shoot down ol' glass eye.

Now, if they can just get Mark Steel.

Personally I'd love it if they got George galloway on and sat him next to Griffin, the whole thing would be boosted by the fact they could come to fisticuffs at any moment.

It's strange with George Galloway, the media narrative is that he's some kind of unpopular lunatic but the audience seems to react positively to him on Question Time.

Last time he was on I think it was there were plenty of digs at his stint on Big Brother but he managed to completely turn it round and got applause- and that's from such a middle class audience as the Question Time one.

As quite a few folk in the Guardian's comments have suggested, Eddie Izzard could be good, with just enough make up to thoroughly unsettle Griffin.

One commenter suggested Lennox Lewis. Now that would be worth it just to watch the fucker squirm.
