facebook is for social networking. Unfortunately a lot of that slides towards the vacuous and indeed tedious vacuity is one of the poisons of our age. Hence the 10,000 groups about "Don't you hate it when [x event]?" or "I DO [some basically common action]". It's not going to change the world, but it will shape it.

I tend to report groups/comments that are unavoidably racist to the FB admins these days. Used to take the free speech position but the soul-crushing ignorance and bigotry got to me in the end. Probably the worst one I've seen, in a competitive field, was something resembling "KILL ALL NIGGERS". I hope it's gone now.

These groups are going to be the first thing that goes in the "great purge of Chrichtons Britain". Especially ones like "Don't you just hate it when you leave one sock in the washing machine.", "I like poseys", "I hate drizzle", and on and on. And ones that are in text speak/ or capitals like "LIFE shd mean LIFE" or "Saturday nite iz 4 gttin pissd!!", they're out too .Don't even get me started on how much astrology related crap is on facebook either.
