The Daily Mail Oncological Ontology Project

Sadly seems not to have been updated for a while...perhaps they felt the task was just too big.

New blog at Angry Mob on the Mail's Victorian freakshow mentality.
Specifically, the story of the 10-year old mother.
Very perceptive piece.

I see karlo likes to go around bothering anti-tabloid websites. I wonder if he's a journo in real-life.

Anyone got a link to the Bill Hicks routine he's referring to?

There's a clip of it here.

Thanks. Quite appropriate for ITV's current output...

Primly Stable blogs on the mayor who thinks Hitler had the 'right idea about Gypsies' and the Mail commenters' reaction.

Primly Stable again, this time on the story of the Muslim artist who used an image from the 7/7 bombings to "make anyone that has a faith, a belief, or an idea they hold close to their heart to think about the impact of these ideas when they leave their heads. I wanted to jolt people into seeing the results of these thoughts put into action." (BBC version)

The Mail's bucket of pigswill, snot and arse gravy is here.

And of course the comments are what you might expect.

This makes me feel actually, physically sick. This is what Der Sturmer was like. This must be how it felt to watch as the Brownshirts bullied, belittled and battered their volk enemies. And the people of good will watched as their civilisation crumbled around their ears.

Is there any point in going on in this country?

Ridiculous attempt to whip up a storm. Angels? If it had been a Christian artist, they'd probably go with 'heartwarming tribute'.

I've found this story to be far more depressing than anything I've read in the mail since 1972.

Yes because more people don't read the tabloids than do, and more people are receptive to facts and reason than you'd think by reading the excretions coming from the Mail or the occasional "I'm not a racist but..." dickhead.
