Dear oh lord. Johnson on BBC News just now.

How much of the money for post-riots stuff has been spent?
Virtually all of it.

In fact, it hadn't gone out the door. And not all had even been approved. he doesn't give a fuck, does he?

Anyone reckon this is good enough for a Prime Minister?

Sorry, I meant "Ledge!", obviously.

Now now, don't get him sidetracked with mere details. Boz is a busy man.

The top-rated comments on this piece make for depressing reading:
Quote:
Boris is a highly intelligent man; he also has a fantastic sense of humour. Boris for PM!

Quote:
Don't be fooled - Boris has more brains, and a better grasp of the current situation facing this country, than the rest of the Libs and Tories put together. If he came up with a credible, workable, save-Britain plan, my guess is that he'd be in by a landslide. Apart from Redwood, Davies and the Chelmsford Boot Boy, he's the only Tory (or in fact, the only politician of any political shade in the Big Three) that I'd even consider voting for.
- Philip, Bankrupted Britain, 13/8/2012 18:01 104

What makes Boris the best is that it's all natural and it's honest. He would make a great PM. I can't imagine him inventing reasons to go to war.
- UKIP supporter, Kent, 13/8/2012 17:31 83

Quote:
Great to have a 'politician' who isn't a shiny-suited lawyer, smiling and saying anything you want to hear before leaving you and ignoring what you said. I like Boris because he may be a posh boy but he'd be just as happy having a pint of old and filthy with someone down-to-earth than many of the back-stabbing politicians he has to deal with at the moment... left or right. Maybe not as good as Churchill, but Churchill wasn't happier than when he was laying bricks and getting his hands dirty.

Come up with a credible, workable, save-Britain plan.

The secret of getting elected there from Phillip.

Since there was a programme about the riots don't forget the legend himself was busy on holiday.

Well, he's certainly invented reasons to take Kent and Southend (my home town) roughly up the arse.

I got pissy on FB the other day when everyone was calling him a "legend!" for dancing to the Spice Girls. I have a special loathing for this cunt.

Quite. I for one am proud to live in London's future carpark/runway.

A not entirely helpful interview with The Standard today, producing a headline "Stop Pussyfooting, Cameron".

His plan seems to be building an airport and cutting taxes. Sounds like irresponsible leftism to me.

He's been talking about a 'massive' house building plan as well. He doesn't really want one of course, he just wants to shit-stir.

The more Boris Johnson jokes, the more serious he is

Had Boris actually been part of Team GB, it is not impossible to imagine him jumping on a Boris bike and beating Bradley Wiggins to the finishing line, then plunging into the pool and sinking Michael Phelps before taking to the boxing ring and knocking out some hapless Korean.

One massive house, I could imagine him wanting that.

Let's be quite clear, it is impossible to imagine Boris winning anything at the Olympics.
He's not an athlete or sportsman, but a deskbound polemicist.
He certainly doesn't belong in the same paragraph as achievers like Phelps or Wiggins.

He's an "amateur". Though wants himself and his mates to be paid like a professional, of course.

He just says what's right for whatever he's doing and hopes nobody will remember.

Working on the Telegraph? Do the PC multiculturalism gone mad schtick.

Running for mayor of London? Wonderful diverse city.
