He's even lazier than Littlejohn. How long would it have taken him to Google the correct licence figure? Or indeed to have discovered that the BBC is far from alone in being a state funded broadcaster.

To say nothing of the fact that, if he had done his research, he would have discovered that the BBC hadn't made "this decision" at all.

Beat me to it.

A list of licence fees in Europe.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_licence

Britain has the 9th highest. The first 8 are all in Western Europe.

And bullshit about the BBC.

But he's so funny, isn't he?

This is the sort of knockabout farce he provided at the Spectator

Jeebus, Torygraph commentators are as thick as Mail ones. I thought they were slightly more intelligent - just as evil but with a little bit more about them.

You can't out ethnic him.

What the fuck is "Eurabia" anyway?

I've seen a few Muslims around Tower Hamlets today. The people who run an excellent cafe (Turks), very nice bloke in Pret A Manger (Bangladeshi, I think) and some women dressed a bit like nuns and seem nice enough (Somalis, I think). No Arabs spotted.

I can just see those 3 groups all coming together and saying "You know what? Let's overthrow those Whiteys together! We're exactly the same!"

Underestimate at your peril, blah, blah.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2011/se ... ell-review

No mention of Johnson dying on his arse after the riots. Didn't seem to be much peril in underestimating him there.

Three words in the comments, "celebrity obsessed age," show why you still can't under-estimate him.

He's written a book. Apparently this is evidence he has a hinterland, so take that, me and others!

Unfortunately he spouted this rubbish on the radio today. Mixture of bollocks and broadbrush

Quote:
I found a great big conglomerate of things that made London great. Infrastructure is the key thing on which I end the book because time and again, you see that London has become successful because of prudent investment and expansion of transport infrastructure. It's a fascinating story.

What it also shows, I'm afraid - and this is something that some people find irritating - it does show, I think, that greatness is produced by the spark of competition, and London is an arena where talents come together and jostle. And it's because of that jostling that you get Shakespeare and so on and so forth.

London and its great transport infrastructure!

Johnson calls the head of the Statistics Authority (a former private secretary to Margaret Thatcher) a "Labour stooge"

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/dave ... outh-crime

Guess what? His pet scheme for rehabilitation isn't as good as he thinks it is.

In response to criticism of a single junction where 89 cyclists have been killed or seriously injured in the last two years, BoJo says that cyclists should just "keep their wits about them" and then they wouldn't die.

There's also a long history of "no, we can't make that junction safe/usable to cyclists and pedestrians because it would interfere with traffic flow, so please keep being seriously killed and injured, just don't get in the way of the drivers while you're doing it, what what".

He's been doing his airport lark today, justified with some sweep of history stuff. We need this airport to fly to China. Frankfurt has more flights there than London. We need this airport so their top people can fly in to meet our top people, blah, blah.

Because it's inconceivable top people in Britain might not all be based in the south-east. Funnily enough, he mentions all the growing big cities in China. So while China looks to spread its top end stuff beyond its biggest city, apparently we can't.

Typical pseudo-intellectual tosh.

Apparently ahead in polls. Including on crime. Where he's on to his third Commissioner of the Met. He booted the first one out because he sounded a bit New Labour, and the next one had to resign because of links with News International.
