The bloke who puts on deodorant and can see women in their undies is quite creepy too.

That cunt.

Totally. That's as creepy as sin.

Agreed. The stupid bugger might at least try to chat up someone not about to sod off on a different train.

Gets a bad name for all us Ukelele players.
I used to be welcomed in at Jam sessions, now I'm questioned to determine whether I'm a sex pest.

The animosity toward that guy probably explains why my own efforts at serenading people with my invisible banjo are met with such hostility.

Referring to it as your invisible banjo can't help matters either.

I'm sure the many women who have now heard that unoriginal line while waiting for a train would like a word with him as well.

For anyone in Wales... The guy who presents the Ferret which is a really rubbish consumer affairs program presented by someone who if he had a personality would be dangerous.

Mind you don't break your invisible banjo string.

Anneka Rice.

Radio 2's early Saturday show used to be presented by Zoe Ball. It was lively, fun, put a bit of spring in your step, and had a good (and often very funny) weekend preview presented by Andrew Collins.

When Zoe was on holiday, she was usually covered by Lynne Parsons - one of the reliable but unspectacular 'second fiddle' Radio 2 presenters.

Now they have given the regular slot to Anneka Rice, someone I never previously classed as a DJ. She is shit. She constantly harks back to her days of ubiquity in the early 1990s (yes, there's a 'Challenge Anneka'-themed slot), runs cringeworthy features like 'knights in shining pyjamas' - basically a shout out to long distance truckers, milkmen and farming types. Honestly, it's like Sarah Kennedy never went away.

Also Sandi Toksvig, in her role as presenter of Radio 4's "Excess Baggage". This programme annoys me for two major reasons as I tackle the Times crossword of a Saturday morning:

1. Everyone they have on as a guest seems to be either an immensely annoying (and posh) backpacking student or an annoying (and posh) backpacking student's parents. And they've all just come back from having an amaaaahzing time up the Inca trail or whatever and decided to write a fucking book about it. Because they're obviously the first person, ever in the history of everything, to ever go there and come back.

2. The programme treats everywhere they cover as if it's just been discovered and/or is, in the words of the immor(t)al Littlejohn, "a faraway country of which we know nothing". Imagine a roundtable discussion of people with home counties accents asking "So, do they have running water yet in France?" and you've got a pretty good idea of Excess Baggage.

Excess Baggage sounds like everything that I don't like about Radio 4 (and I'll chuck in the Guardian/Observer too), although there is a huge amount I really do like.

Sarah Kennedy was DM-on-the-Radio, wasn't she?

And the uproar about her leaving was ridiculous - she should have been put to seed long before then, but the way people were going on about her you'd think Steven Fry had died or something.

Ditto. I've just finished reading another Guardian travel piece about another "undiscovered paradise".

I'm staying at home this year - can't afford a holiday after all the £200 t-shirts I bought as recommended in the Guardain Saturday supplement.
