Is it just me, or is HIGNFY getting more and more shit? The jokes aren't funny, there's more of a moronic emphasis on You've Been Framed style twattery and it's gone terribly, terribly downhill.

Agreed. Its possibly because politics these days is just SO shit and beyond parody that its difficult to write satire about it anymore.

That Reginald D Hunters always a class act though. He must have the coolest accent since Boris

I got turned away at the door on Thursday for studio audience as it was overbooked and we'd arrived too late. Watching it back I'm quite relieved, it was exceptionally poor this time round. Got replacement tickets for next week instead.

The problems it faces are manifold; it's decided to be less risky and focus on the more facetious side of the news. Paul Merton was quite right to be in sheer disbelief that The Hum was the 2nd most important story this week.

The guests are too weak these days too; comedians and journos on the exposure trail. You'll never get another Boris, or Hattersly (or tub of lard) or major political figure ever again as long as they fear getting walloped.

Angus would be a welcome return.

If they're not going to offer pertinent satirical comment on relevant news stories, they should at least get Brian Blessed back to host it.

I liked that notice in the newsagents window; "Only 2 MPs allowed in the shop at any one time". :D

Didn't know about the newly formed BNP Youth until HIGNFY.

Thanks for reminding on that, that actually slipped my mind for a moment. That Boudicca poem was terrifying.

I've been finding it harder and harder to take that sneering, smug little public school shite Hislop's constant "hilarious" sniping at the government. This isn't just a partisan thing - I do recognise the obligations on political satire to target those in power, and I honestly wouldn't mind it if it were well thought-out, funny, or mostly justifiable, but in far too many cases with Hislop it just isn't - and I have to supress a deep-seated urge to smash the little twat's face in (even though he's not actually in the room with me).

Absolutely! I stopped watching it years ago for exactly that reason. That and the fact Paul Merton thinks he is the reincarnation of Tony Hancock.

I have just started to watch it again and nothing has changed. Also, it was better when Angus Deayton hosted it.

The espisodes with Reginald D Hunter on are usually the only ones I can watch, gets me he doesn't really like Ian Hislop.

I watch the ones with Julia Hartley-Brewer in. I find her strangely attractive with her huge norks and obviously filthy ways. Of course, as an Express writer, she is a lunatic, but, there is something about her.

Fecking laughable, more like. "Billy Brit" my arse. Note Billy's "Soccer Is
My Life" t-shirt, by the way. SOCCER. Very British.
