Or the well-timed application of a splint before that...

Going back to FGM for a moment, I may be wrong but I believe that in many cases it is practiced as a form of adultery prevention.

The idea been that by preventing the proper function of the clitoris during sex, the woman is less likely to stray from her husband as she will not gain any sexual enjoyment from doing so. So although I can understand the point of view of men who disagree with circumsision (and indeed I fail to see the point of it beyond medical reasons), circumsision seems to have nearly always been performed for health reasons and rarely causes any problems when done properly, whereas FGM was never performed for health reasons.

It's about as imaginative as you can get for an anti Muslim story, the sad thing is a lot of readers will believe it.

The Mail's article has now changed to: Egypt's 'plans for farewell intercourse law so husbands can have sex with DEAD wives' branded a 'complete nonsense'

Quote:
But sources inside the Egyptian Embassy in London have said the claims were 'completely false', 'forbidden in Islam' and 'could never imagine it happening'.

The source said the proposal, if it even existed, had not reached the parliament - although it was also admitted it could be the work of an extremist politician.

Although not officially rebutted, the claims that someone inside Egypt could introduce such a law provoked widespread scepticism.

There's a blog about the story here: http://mideasti.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/anatomy-of-hoax-and-media-credulity.html

The Home Counties primary school where less than 1% of pupils speak English as their first language
By Chris Parsons

I'm assuming Mr Parsons is in the process of learning English himself. He's constantly used "less" instead of fewer throughout the article. A basic schoolboy error, methinks.

Though it could just be that he's a dick.

as ever with these types of articles, the weasel wording avoids the fact that "first" and "second" languages are not ordered by ability. people can be easliy (and frequently are) just as good or better at their second language than their first, hell, they can be better at their third ffs.

There's a decent article to be written about schools like this, and the ghettoising effect of faith schools, and broader choice policies. This isn't it.

I live within 200 yards of 5 schools in Tower Hamlets. The kids speak English, as what I'd say was their first language. The "additional" thing is down to parents filling in the forms. At least one of the parents usually speaks very good English.

Because deranged vigilantism and race riots help the country? Even the article spells out pretty clearly that poster boy Griffin almost wrecked the trial, lol
If that had of happened, I wonder if they'd be clamouring for him to be on the scaffold, instead of anyone with darker skin not called Janet or John.

The Guardian's take on 'Asian sex gangs'. The point about folding Pakistani, Muslim and Asian into one label is well made. What strikes me about the racial profiling debate is that nobody's pointing out that the 'groomers' are all of the same gender. If the Mail and its fanclub think that there's something inherent in 'Asian' culture that leads 'Asians' to groom young girls, how can they avoid the conclusion that it's equally integral to male culture?

Man makes film of another man fucking a horse and possesses images of 4 year old boys being abused and yet I can find no reference to his race or religion anywhere.

And where does Dacre's Drip lead to? Well, in this case it led to court, but in other hands might have led to assault and violence.

http://menmedia.co.uk/manchesterevening ... ort-worker

Quote:
A high-flying businessman was hauled before the court for a tirade of religious abuse at a Muslim immigration official waiting to check his passport. Anthony Holt, 65, had become wound up after reading an article in the Daily Mail about the ‘victimisation of Christianity’ on a flight into Manchester. When he landed, the retired consultant refused to go through a desk where Sayima Mohammed was on duty. He astonished witnesses by pointing at her and saying: “I don’t want to be seen by that. I don’t want to be seen by any Muslim in a position of authority. I want to be seen by someone who’s English. This is England. This is my country.
