Interesting one. I thought the joke was pretty nasty, myself. However, recently, Private Eye did "Weather Forecast for Iraq - Sunni in parts, Shi'ite elsewhere..." which I thought was funny. Seems that, as with anything in comedy, careful wording is the key. And not taking an totally unrequired stab at people who have ntohing to do with it, of course.

Ive always wondered if the popularity of the Nissan Sunny car with Asian families in the 80 & 90's had something to do with its name. Would love to see the Nissan Shite sometime in the future

Here we are folks it's Christmas Eve & the Mail is still stirring the shit. They must be very proud of themselves.

it's weeks later and they have recycled another story,

Mosque's plan to broadcast call to prayer from loudspeaker 'will create Muslim ghetto'

that pic is really odd :? It looks like the bloke at the front is a ghost. Suppose we should be pleased that they didn't use the stock 'woman in burka' pic

I posted this

We have had calls to prayer on loud speaker in Bradford for decades and it hasn't resulted in 'Muslim Ghettos' (whatever they are). Stop making an issue of things that are not an issue outside the southeast.

probably won't get in though

Haven't they just tacked the old comments to the new story? Which makes the Mail look silly.

i know these are old comments but...

"If someone organises a protest against this - I will come.

- Stand For England, England"

slightly less threatening, perhaps than the "let's start civil war" brigade

"A number of comments refer to 'These People'. This reaction only underlines the stupidity of Muslims insisting on their religious 'rights' whilst denigrating the religious and social mores of their adopted country. Christians would not dare to do this in Pakistan or Saudi Arabia.

- Peter, SW France"
i thought calling a group "these people" was a racist remark, myself - guess i'm wrong. also, pakistan and saudi arabia are fairly theocratic? is this comment for real, or taking the piss, because i don't actually know.

No, but we have freedom of speech and religion, see. Makes things more fun that way.

Absolutely, Daul. What John Chambers doesn't understand is that some of the countries in the Middle East are theocracies, whereas the UK is a liberal democracy. So what is dear old John trying to say? That the theocracies of the middle east should become liberal democracies or that the UK should become a theocracy? The bloke's a buffoon for being so vague.

He's an especially contemptible cock for saying it as 'Yeah look, they don't do it (the illiberal theocracies he sees fit to spit upon) so why should we? (because you see fit to...ah forget it, moron)'

Muslim M&S worker refuses to sell 'unclean' Bible book to customer No comments as yet but I don't think it will be long. Mind you if said worker did say 'unclean' they may need to take a look at themselves and how they treat other people.

Liked this quote from the customer:

Quote:
I am not racist but I have vowed never to let a person wearing a head-dress serve me again.

Both sides are ridiculous; the assistant for the whole "unclean" business and the shopper for the "I'm not racist but I'm not going to buy anything from Muslims ever again".

Also, comments appear to be disabled.
