I'm staying with Firefox, in my own pithy way.

Google chrome now under attack.

Christ that didn't take long eh.

Although to be slightly fair, Google made a stupid cockup (happily they fixed it quickly) and deserve a bit of a kickin.

But yeah the other day the Mail was in love with Chrome. Arseholes.

Internet users need help to separate fact from fiction as web is full of lies, says its inventor

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ ... entor.html

That headline appearing on the Mail website is just the most delcious of ironies.

Is this the paper that promoted the LHC means the end of the World story just a week ago?

Mind you Berners-Lee doesn't seem to have clue what he's talking about .... unless that is he's agreeing with me when he mutters about "it's all about who you allow to vote" - which nicely sums up the main problem with the internet and politics, allowing morons to vote results in moronic leadership.

I agree with Sir Tim. It is extraordinary how many lies and disinformation can be found on websites that look respectable.

Brilliant...and subtle enough that they may never get it.

Incidentally, Mozilla came out with Ubiquity a few days ago, which beats the shit out of Chrome, or indeed even Opera.

Husband hacked wife to death with meat cleaver after she changed Facebook status to single

Man and woman married for 15 years. Man leaves home. 4 days later woman changes her facebook profile to single. Man deals with this in a rational and calm way by getting drunk and high and killing her.

A pretty tragic and fucked up case.

I think the most tragic thing here is that what I understand from the article is that he will be in jail for 14 years (the minimum). He should be there for good. Throw away the key I say. Give him hard labour for the rest of his life. What a waste of skin.

Isn't revenge great

Facebook- they say its a relationship killer, but thats taking it a but too far!

Completely appropriate. Thanks.

Jon Worden, what a load of rubbish....there are 2 more over-riding factors in this case...firstly and illegal drug called cocaine and secondly PRIDE...oh and a third one, these social networking websites.

This can not be blamed solely on alcohol!

Only 14 years? How in God's name can this mean 'Life'? He will be out after a life of luxury way before this.

Where do the Judiciary arrive at the decision that a murderer should serve no less than foresaking his own life for commiting such a crime?

Oh, I forgot. The do-gooding PC delusionists rule our lives and control what is 'best for us all'.

- Alan Cadman, France, 17/10/2008 18:02

It's all the PC Brigade's fault you know.
Revenge is oh so much better than rehabilitation.
I also quite like the "life of luxury". He'll be at least 48 years old with a criminal record for murder. Not exactly the ideal CV seller is it.

Some are awake.

Jerry - why can't people understand that your minimum sentence is when you apply for parole, which a murderer is very unlikely to get...he's not going to just be freed after 14 years!

Because of the heavy implications from the likes of the Mail? Just a stab in the dark.

Internet generation don't have the attention span for jury duty, warns Lord Chief Justice

It seems like loads of people I know are being called up for jury duty. Well, two of them anyway. Which, given my social circles is pretty much most of them.

Anyway, they've been constantly battling to try and make it work around their hectic work schedules (one is a teacher and it was scheduled for the last two weeks of term, and couldn't get it moved to the holidays when it would be better for everyone!), whereas I'm sitting around doing sod all driving myself towards insanity.

Given that I'll inevitably be called up at some point, shouldn't there be a way to "volunteer" to do it now rather than later? It'd save the system money because they wouldn't have to compensate for loss of earnings. And it's certainly cheaper than therapy.

Surely your friends shouldn't need to worry, it's the employers responsibility to make sure they can do it IIRC.

That would defeat the object of a random selection.

You could always watch criminal trials. there are often people in our local courts who are known to court staff and even judges because they have it as a little hobby.
