I have heard nothing but good things about the Olympics. If the aussies and french are moaning it's because of their poor medal total.
Just speaking to people from all over the world in the park... they are very impressed.

I can't imagine how pissed off those at the DM are, hoping for a disaster and instead they get this... They have had to quickly change their tune to follow that of the public.

Every single starting player in the men's hockey team just sang the anthem with a certain look on their faces (almost a wry smile). So that's old Pierced Organ 11k out of pocket right there. I wonder if the subs count?

Is it a bit trite to suggest the many people slagging off Bolt and playing down his achievements are doing it because he's black? Probably is, I suppose. But I can't see why on earth there is such a dislike for him.

He doesn't do false modesty. Therefore a certain kind of Brit hates him. There may be a racist element to that as well.

Yes, I suppose his perceived arrogance is probably more to do with it. Probably a bit unfair to brand it racist. He just comes across as a fun and happy guy though. The idea that he's arrogant is way off the mark. Having said that they probably don't know a thing about him and are just basing their opinion on a few pictures and soundbites.
