It means that rightwing fuckwits have to pay taxes, to bear a part of the burden of being a member of society.

Easy. It abrogates their natural entitlement to the goodies without paying. That is an attack on the very fabric of society and the integrity of the state. Treason. Everyone knows that.

People involved in an important and very heavily time dependent task ensure it is carried out, whilst other staff are available to provide support. What is the story? If nurses were being side-tracked by everyone who wanted something right away and people began dying because their pills arrived hours late then this would be a source of fury too. Clearly there is no pleasing some people. I'm interested in why they have such a need though, why can they not countenance the idea of being satisfied. What does their perrenial persecution prove/warrant/earn/justify/express?

Twats.

Public sector innit? Whatever the situation it could be done better privately.

It's the collective narcissism of the elderly, of those who think they know it all courtesy of having graduated from the University of Life and of the unconfident who bluster and bully to cover up their inadequacies. Whatever they want is what should happen, and They (ie those in power) should have the ESP to work out what the narcissists want at any given moment even though it changes constantly - ie in this case, if they want to ask the nurse what's for lunch that should take priority, whereas when it's them getting drugs that could be dangerous if the dose is wrong, they want the nurse's full attention. Actually of course it should be the consultant coming to the ward to give them, them alone, their drugs, and preferably in the middle of the night to show how important they are.

I bet their take on the tabards would be different if it was about neonatal nurses preparing the babies complicated infusions and so on.

Not if it meant they moved further down in the list of priorities. People like that are great for sentimental crap when it doesn't affect them but when they actually lose out in even a small way, watch them get their spiked clubs out.

These sort of people can be summed up by the restaurant owner on some BBC talk show who was outraged that medical staff were standing about doing nothing while he was in the hospital. He said that his waiters wouldn't be doing that. Of course he can predict with pretty reasonable certainty when his busy periods are and even if he gets it wrong all that happens is some people get their food a bit later. Compare that with what would happen if there weren't enough doctors and nurses during a crisis because some fuckwit thinks the NHS should be run like a curry house.
