What is it about NHS staff? They're either playing silly pranks or they're leaving epidurals in teenage girls for too long. The NHS should be overhauled & deadbeat staff, of which there are many, should be sacked - not retrained. However, the NHS reforms, should they go ahead, will not improve the quality of NHS staff. As for the staff who ignored the symptoms that Sophie was experiencing, they should have been sacked & should have lost their pensions as well. I hope Sophie ends up with millions & that most of her compensation comes from the staff who let her down.

They wear red dresses or tunics and they like going to meetings! Although I saw once deign to serve a cup of tea to a patient once.

Ours were put in high vis uniforms, obviously to shut up the "bring back matron" lot. Some of them do try to get stuck in, when they're not tied down by the endless meetings and paperwork you get in management these days.

I'm finding it amusing the way Cameron is telling the press he has all the nurses and doctors on side now, resulting in them all turning round and saying "No, we're not!"

I'm sure they would have seen how on side nurses were if Lansley had the balls to have faced all the nurses at RCN's congress rather than a hand picked group instead.

So despite opposition from patients, staff and a good swathe of MPs, the NHS is now stuffed. Just frigging brilliant.

The Lords still have a chance to stop it - but it doesn't look good. Come on Baroness Williams, nail these bastards to the floor!

To be honest, any doctor or nurse, whose patients die whilst in their care, should be charged with manslaughter. If a doctor or nurse knew that they could be charged with manslaughter, if a patient dies in their care, they will be more careful & will listen to their patients, who often have a good idea what is wrong with them. My condolences to Mrs. Roberts' family. I hope that you decide to sue the stupid people who let her down.
