Tony Blair is alright in my book, he made the decision that needed to be made and we went in.

Must be the only time one of "Our Boys" (sic) has ever been heavily red arrowed in a Mail comment space

What a maddo, one min he's presiding over the party that said "we don't do god", then he converts to catholicism and proceeds to read a muslims bible every day, perfect example of all over the place lefty hand wringing or blatant opportunism take your pick. P.S Would he have even ever left the party his father represented (Tory) if they hadn't made the climate comfortable enough for him in the first place to be able to become hopelessly idealistic and decide to play hopscotch and bounce over to the left anyway?
- Stuart, Edinburgh, Scotland,

Is Stuart really blaming Tony's rise to power on the Tories?

What hope do we have for our country with "leaders" like this? Poor old Britain I weep for you. Vote BNP!

1) Tony Blair was not a "leader", he was a leader. You can't get more leader-y than prime minister. This woman might not have liked Blair, but even his critics don't contend that he failed to show leadership. On the contrary, he led where no-one wished to follow.

2) So Griffin is the kind of "leader" she wants. Based on his experience of leading…… what?

Paul has a comrade, also in the red.

"Well said Paul. But you'll never convince the armchair generals on these forums to support us. They hate the forces because we're "public sector workers". I would rather have Blair watching my back than Cameron any day.

I love that he calls the Mailies out on being "armchair generals" and hating the armed forces - should make some heads explode.

Polite talk for a mentalist (and not the good kind like Derren Brown).

I always thought it was a Fruit and Nut Case.... The Cake variety was on an advert.

The original poster was mixing up the metaphors "fruit cake" and "nut case" hence Malcolm's other post and my reply (below) The Fruit & Nut case bit was a song for a Cadbury's Fruit and Nut chocolate ad in the 70s/80s (sung by Frank Muir).

Well what can we expect a Royal Marine with an active service record to know, compared to a self proclaimed hard working deputy manager of a sandwich franchise in Harlow.

Not my favourite person, but when he offers to throw an end of school party for his kid's year group it seems more than a trifle ungracious to moan because he isn't throwing in free transport.

No one should really be suprised by this. Bliar and his party charged everyone in this country for living here.....and we're still paying the price.

A spokesman for the Blairs said: 'The Blairs have agreed with the headmaster that if any family can't afford the cost of the coach, then they won't have to pay.'

So no problem then? And I'm guessing the Blairs are paying for the food and drink at this party, 'cos the article certainly would have mentioned if they weren't - so a tenner doesn't seem a particularly outrageous amount to be expected to pay.

Quote:
Another parent added: 'If the Blairs are holding the party, it's up to them to make the transport arrangements.

They have made the transport arrangements. And since when did anybody who throws a party have to pay the transport for anyone who attends?

Doesn't sound like a real quote, most people don't speak that way.

And if it is real, does that mean that parent doesn't let their children go to any kids party unless the host's parents are arranging free transport home? Well that's bollocks isn't it? Your child would never go to a party in their lives if that were the case.
