How much border protection would the £18bn we've spent in Afghanistan have got us in the UK? Apart from walls 30 feet high all around the coastline, at least the money would have been kept IN Britain and there would be a better chance of keeping the terrorists OUT.

The one to blame is that harridan Thatcher . Her terrible policies of self and greed destroyed our industry and ruined the moral fabric. I'd back Blair if:

a) he apologised for the wars,
b) he had Andrew Adonis publicly flogged and thrown into an oubliette forever. With rats.
c) he promised never again to make decisions based on religious belief over evidence
d) he had a monitor, Roman style, standing behind him at all times saying 'respice te, hominem te memento' and a sign saying 'memento mori'.

Boris and Toby aside, would you like to restate point d in estuarian for the sake of us plebs who couldn't stump up the 30K per annum.

No, no, please, anything but him again. perhaps if there is another war we can put him in the front line, and see if he has a different opinion about it.
