I don't really see this as a privacy issue...more that someone would be daft enough to post a photo of a load of money online! Hadn't they heard the stories of people who put statuses about parties or going on holiday and leaving the house empty?

But they aren't attacking Facebook, they simply say that he put a message up which makes the prosecution able to argue that the murder was premeditated (or at least not accidental or done on the spur of the moment).

I thought this thread was for reporting where the Mail was erroneously blaming Facebook for something, rather than simply recording every time they mention it?

Well it was the lead item last night.I wonder if that would have been so without the Facebook connection.

The blamed Facebook again only the other day and today called for it to be financially responsible for any repairs or surgery resulting from crimes that are linked to it.

Sad though the situation is and bad though I feel for the boy - how many more times do people have to be told before they take notice and make their profiles and invites private?

It is so very, very easy, that I no longer have any sympathy for anyone who finds themselves in this situation...actualy I never did have any sympathy for them but whatever, you know what I mean.

The report highlighted the case of Becky, not her real name, a 13-year-old White British girl, who was sexually exploited by a group of boys form her school.
When her parents were not at home a group of boys went round for a ‘sex party’ which was advertised on Facebook.
‘Following the incident Becky was coerced into throwing further ‘sex parties’ whenever her house was empty,’ the report said.

And that is Facebook's fault?

Playground children having more accidents because parents are too busy playing on their smartphones
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2237034/Unsupervised-children-having-accidents-parents-busy-playing-smartphones.html#ixzz2D2hadk00

This technically doesn't belong in here. Probably more suited to a thread on their hated of technology in general. It is very very odd how the Mail tries to turn it's readers against modern technology while at the same time catering to it. Website, Phone App etc.

Yes, yes all these gizmos are terrible. People constantly looking at their phones on FaceTweet and Twitbook. We are going to make sure you hate it, too....Oh, by the way, "Follow us: @MailOnline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook"

Pretty funny comments, to be fair. Completely unintentional, obviously. Just sheer stupidity.

Smart phone is the ultimate misnomer, like calling the village idiot Einstein. Just take a look at the users of smartphones and those who spend their lives on facebook - not very bright at all!

Nice little example of the anti-facebook drip taking effect.

Not one of the worst by a long shot, but from my experience, the people who use their smartphones/pads the most, are usually using it more for business purposes. These people fail to grasp how useful these devices actually are and just see them as some distraction which they don't understand.

I took my daughter out for dinner, we were chatting away (well as much as a 2 year old can) at the next table was a father and his daughter who was probably 10. The entire time they were there he was on his iPhone, he only put it down to eat. This poor little girl just sat there looking at her hands for the duration of the meal. It made me want to cry.

And you were watching what's going on at the table next to you the entire time rather than engaging with your daughter? So much better.
