The Mail has, for some time, had it's sights on Sally Bercow. This seems to be on the grounds that:
1. She is a woman who has opinions.
2. She is married to John Bercow, who Dacre hates.
3. She is a Labour supporter.
4. She is a woman who refuses to learn her place
5. She uses Twitter
6. She is a woman.

Their latest effort, as quite often, is based on her frequent Tweets.

This took TWO 'journalists'?

Well, given the level of snigger, smutty suggestions and supercilious snobbishness perhaps it did.

Her response:
Quote:
Sally Bercow Sally Bercow ‏@SallyBercow

Love you Fail on Sunday - redefining 'journalism' as I tweet. Be proud. Keep uncovering 'important' stories. May Leveson whip your arse :))

True. And in the Mail's words, she is 'feisty'. Dacre really does have a problem with women, doesn't he?

8. She seems to like having fun. Shamelessly so. Why, sometimes she even does and says things that are a bit embarrassing — and doesn't then curl up in a ball and apologise for herself.

Possibly related to 1: Her opinions are not identical to her husband's, and yet she continues to express them. Publicly.

9. She is not the cross between porcelain doll and sex doll that Dacre seems to think women ought to be.

He thinks like a Victorian man. Wives should be demure and provide children for their husband but they should not enjoy the coupling. TBH, I don't think he enjoys sex either.

10. She is considerably shorter than her husband. How dare she violate Dacre's idea of the perfect couple!

You are quite correct of course - well, spotted, thank you! It should have read:

'10. She is considerably taller than her husband. How dare she violate Dacre's idea of the perfect couple!'

Must have had the red mist at the time - I usually get it when I read the comments section on these type of stories...in fact, on most (if not all) of this rag's stories...

Why does Dacre hate John Bercow? Just political opinions or is there more to it?

Wet Tory, bit Blairite, short, moderniser, impartial, doesn't control his wife enough for the Dark Lord's likings.

Ah, just tedious Dacre bollocks then rather than Bercow sticking it to him at some point in the past. Shame.

Dacre was a tad miffed when New Labour conspired to make Bercow Squeaker of the House.*

Interestingly though, Bercow used to be a mainstay of The Monday Club. He really has been on a political journey, becoming more and more progressive in his political outlook after he married Sally to the point where it was regularly rumoured that he was about to cross the floor.

She really has been the making of him. :D

I saw him a few weeks ago speaking at a conference held by a charity supporting the parents of children with SEN. I must say I thought he was impressive. I also enjoyed the bit when he discussed whether Daily Mail scum were there and how they would inevitably spin what he was saying.
