http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2159436/As-trade-4-7m-home-cash-Kates-parents-making-royal-links.html

I must admit that until last year I knew absolutely nothing about Kate Middleton's family other than the odd mention in the Mail about how Kate's mum used to be a air stewardess. Yet over the last year the Mail seem to have become obsessed by the fact that the Middletons might be cashing in on their daughters media profile. If they are getting a bit of extra business on the back of their royal connections good luck to them I'm sure that all the pictures of Kate on the Mail website has contributed to the Mail online being the most visited newspaper website in the world adding to the news groups profits. There also seem to be a lot of journalists and photographers who are making plenty of cash from writing about them or taking pictures of the Middletons.

Probably the biggest factor in the Middletons' business success is the fact that their company is constantly being mentioned in the Mail which is bound to drive extra traffic to the companies website.

Why is the Daily Mail running this constant smear campaign against this family? I mean seriously? They had a good business going and earned their own money before Kate married William. They probably don't even need to work anymore but still do, earning their own money. Would the Daily Mail prefer they didn't work and lived off their "fame"? Would it fuck. So again, why are they trying to basically destroy this family?

They're getting above themselves. Know thy place and be thankful.

It really is the typical case of Build them up....Break them down.

It's getting pretty nasty now though. It seems to be a full on smear campaign. The fact they went to Wimbledon seemed to cause an absolute shit storm. The problem is the Middleton family can't really fight back because of their position, they have to just sit and take it.

I really do want the Mail to pick on someone who'll stand up and take them to the cleaners.

Wonder how quickly the Mail will report this:

Quote:
But following an investigation, a Locog spokeswoman said: "There are no infringements and the products are fine. We may ask them to make a very minor change to some copy."

If I may be indulgent enough to reply to myself...it's now nearly 25 hours since the Guardian reported the Middletons had been cleared.

There's no mention of this on the Mail website.

(Does anyone know if/where the original claims appeared in the paper?)

Earlier this year, the Mail led the charge into Pippa Middleton for her pisspoor party planning book pointing out (rightly) that it was just a load of cribbed stuff from other books on the subject and statements of the obvious, padded out with lots of big pictures. If she wasn't who she was (and her parents aren't Meg Matthews style party planners, they're importers of Taiwanese tat) it would never be published.

So, with all that just 5 weeks ago, guess who graces the MoS today with her guide to Christmas parties?

While this might be a cake-having-and-eating "let's get her in to do an article and then we an all have a sneer at it, besides the non-sneering readers are suckers for anything royal", it just strikes me as very inconsistent and lazy. Plus ca change...
