Wow, I'd forgotten all about him. He's probably in a home with Peter Simon somewhere.

Peter Simon was last seen as the warm-up man at recordings of The Weakest Link (in 2003, at least). I know. I was there.

(Someone gave me a spare ticket to the Celebrity DJs edition. Not a big Anne Robinson fan, but Pat Sharp's aged well.)

And I never realised just how camp and catty that man really was. Patrick Kielty's warm-up (and yes, I was only at that recording because a friend had tickets and I was free that evening, as well) used less innuendo.

And any news on Trevor and Simon? Swinging pants in panto in some obscure hole is my guess. Possibly with the Krankies (how wrong were they? I for one am scarred for life).

At least the Krankies resurfaced for a cameo in the video for this year's Comic Relief single - Trev and Simon just seem to've vanished.

And when you can't get billing alongside the Krankies, Bob Carolgees and Frank Sidebottom, you're in trouble.

Don't forget Bobby Davro. Last I saw him, he was on Buzzcocks getting ripped into by Mark Lamarr and told "it's not the eighties!" every time he tried to do an impression.

At least he hasn't gone down the Les Dennis route.

If this isn't suffering from the usual Wiki credibility gaps, that Glastonbury comment just warped my fragile little mind:

It's hardly rocket science (which, admittedly, is now over 60 years old - maybe we should say "It's not particle physics").

There was a girl (I use the term loosely - worryingly, she was 25) on my NCTJ course who hosted for them.

Claimed never to've read a book other than picture books, and blagged her way through English Lit exams with excessive lesson notes.

Reckoned that her moment of fame was getting onto The Big Breakfast by pretending to be a Page 3 girl, in order to participate in a "consumer test" feature where Page 3 girls in bikinis tested suntan lotion by smearing themselves in it and seeing who was fastest down a kiddie slide.

Suddenly blurted out, two months into the course, in the middle of the Central Government class "Oh, the person's called the Whip! I thought you were kidding!".

(Yes, she was training for official journalist status. Born 3am girl, that one.)

Nice girl, but I feel sorry for Peter Simon if he's sunk that low.

It's just bid tv (no 'up'), if you're going to mention my favourite TV channel then at least get it right!

(Please note that was feigned anger - bloody internet with its lack of intonation.)

Oh, and yes, he is shit.

And that fucking Gemma Hadley as well.

Danielle Fearnon is my favourite - she knows how to sell stuff, the lying, manipulative bitch.

Don't the BBC generate some revenue by selling programmes to the rest of the world?
Doesn't the World Service have some imporatance to the British military?

The irony and lack of logic is lost on some readers- "I don't want to pay for the license, but don't mind watching BBC repeats on Sky for 3x the cost".

Oh yes bid "we've changed our name but we still sell the same old crap" tv :P They don't even do bidding anymore.

B and PD tv are good for a laff sometimes, watching them desperately try to flog sommat that no one wants.
And now they have to bribe people with this megadrop lark.

Mind, that is one thing you can see about the BBC. No crappy shopping or quiz channels.

Something that's always criticised by the Daily Mail types on digitalspy.co.uk forums. They seem completely oblivious to the fact that it keeps the license fee down.

Though most of the comments are carried over from the original version of the story. But my first thought was "so the DM has never told a lie then!"

They have it in for the BBC this week.

How would Natasha Kaplinsky have handled history's biggest stories?
