Thought I'd draw attention to Mr Rowson's cartoons because
i) He is perhaps one of the very best contemporary examples of how to draw a very effective political cartoon for contrasting with the inept and piss-poor Paul Thomas, of Express notoriety, but also because
ii) His savage homing in on the truth is quite devastaing. Take this typical one, published yesterday, for example. I was simultaneously gasping in admiration at the visceral accuracy of the subject matter, and also weeping a little, because the cartoon confirms that many (all:-() of the things that I feared would come to pass before the election if the Tories took power (which they have, it being clear that the Lib Dems have the status in government only of useful idiots) - gleeful full-frontal attacks on the NHS, the BBC, and education. It also makes the point that the Mandelson/Blair/Brown nonsense is indeed a sideshow - something it always, in truth, was - but even more so now in the face of these bastards wilfully setting about wrecking the cherished institutions of our society for no better reason than Tory ideological dogma.
