I think he'll be keeping quiet on that.

He won't. He'll just use Tony's high sales to have another go at Gordon Brown's low sales. The enemy of my enemy is my friend - and his book makes a bloody good cudgel.

Anyone know the sales figures of "To Hell in a Handcart" or any of the other jets of shite he's produced recently to do as subtle reminders for comments?

His latest rubbish is ranked 8,420 on Amazon UK which surprises me - I'd have expected at least one more digit in that figure. To Hell in a Handcart is ranked 154,496 and Littlejohn's Britain at 59,314.

On Amazon.com (ie the US site) House of Fun comes in at a chartbusting 2,871,932

As for UK sales figures, no idea but maybe one of the librarians on here will be able to find out :D

One good thing though - the more TB slags off Gordon Brown, the more people start wondering if they misjudged the poor sod (GB, that is). Even Mailites. It's quite interesting to watch the process.

Well there you go. I didn't expect it to be a popular sentiment. But it's true.

I quite like him too, and he achieved a hell of a lot which is all-too-quickly forgotten.

I do, however, think he's wildly deluded when he says Gordon Brown failed because he 'abandoned the formula'. Brown is a very substantive man, who I have an enormously deep respect for because he had the balls to move to the left and act in a way he believed was right. He failed because his own party and the media mounted a colossal and sustained campaign against him.

Yeah, basically that. The problem is Iraq clouds the issue, he also did a hell of a lot of good things while in office, and if you ignore Iraq then it wasn't a bad Premiership. Yes he's gone a bit mad since he left office, but then he's been hanging out with Republicans and found religion, so he's obviously not entirely compos mentis. Mind you, at least he's not as batshit as Thatcher has become by all accounts.

It was Iraq and religious mania that did for him. Both are pretty worrying. The latter gave him the 'conviction' to do the former.

when you wrote this?

Judging by the timing, it seems not. So I take my hat off to you.

Here in Spain they reckon that every leader since democracy has gone slightly barmy in his second term, usually because he starts thinking he's some kind of international statesman and so screws up royally.

It appears that Mr B has been pelted with eggs and shoes at a book-signing in Dublin.

Mwaahahahahah!
