Is Michael McIntyre the new Mr Nasty? Britain's Got Talent judge reduces nine-year-old boy to tears at Birmingham auditions

It seems that, having built him up, they're having a go at knocking him down again. Looks a bit exaggerated and desperate from where I'm sitting, but I'd hardly expect anything less.

Non sequitur of the day goes to:

Quote:
Hate to be a spoilsport but.......the reason why the Home Office pay for so many armed police officers at Heathrow is so that they can protect the airport from a terrorist attack - not to escort celebrities (?) who didn't have the foresight to book a people carrier. Next time I have trouble getting a cab at Heathrow I'll just ring the police - they're bound to give me a lift aren't they?

It's a weird article, and if it's meant to make me feel sympathy for the little boy, it does the exact opposite. That the kid gets upset at what is obviously a joke like that shows that he shouldn't be in the competition at all because he can't handle it. It's like that little girl a few years back that cried so she got a second go on the live shows. Kids that young are too immature to handle the pressures of such a big competition and if they can't take a joke it says it all.

What's also weird is that it starts with 'Michael McIntyre is the new Mr. Nasty', and yet it makes out that the 'nasty' thing he did was an obvious joke. But I suppose it's another case of misleading headlines.

That's just reminded me of Charlie Brooker's comments about the crying girl who got the show extended over the news. In response to someone saying "she's the bravest little girl in the world" Charlie helpfully pointed out that the actual bravest little girl in the world is probably sat in the corner of a dark cell somewhere in Africa, nursing a stab wound and fighting off a pack of dogs.

You know things are bad when the Daily Mail calls you 'nasty'.

It actually looks like a non-story fed to the media to start getting the public interested in the show before the new series kicks off.

That Macintyre eh! Worse than Frankie Boyle. Bad tipper too.
Did I tell you about when I had that Bonham-Carter girl in my cab ...
