Akin to the "stepping out" story there's another trend for "so and so shows someone else what they're missing". Usually an excuse for tits and celebrity gossip rolled into one.

Yes - commonly used that one. It's a pretty ridiculous imputation, though, that some celeb-o-woman would deliberately flaunt her bits to a pap photographer for publication in order purely to have a dig at a former partner for leaving her - and frankly, the assumption that the woman is always aggrieved to have been dumped is more than a bit sexist, too..

It conjures up very sleazy images in my mind of a woman hoisting her skirts to reveal a "hamburger shot" opportunity, while leering into the camera and saying "Look at THIS ! Loook at what he's MISSIIIINNGGG ! " in the manner of Linda Blair in The Exorcist.
