Four namechecks in the article, one in the headline, and five picture credits — simply for sending out a press release and a few jpegs. I'm guessing the work experience hack who gets a byline for this, as well as the Converse plug from yesterday, one Lauren Paxman, is unrelated to Jeremy.

Boring survey of expectant fathers lifts from four-year old BBC article. It's really a puff for the multinational baby-product manufacturer that commissioned the survey.

The Mail's top headline right now (yes, they really do still claim to be a serious newspaper) is this advert for Hugh Hefner's new club:

Does Britain really need a new Playboy club? Hugh Hefner touches down with his bunnygirls
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar ... girls.html

Accompanied of course by a series of photos that will keep Mail readers fwapping away for six months - which is, presumably, the main reason for publishing the story.

The black tights look really tacky. In the 60s, the bunnies were all gorgeous but not fat like some of them in the pics.

Too sexy to cycle! Police pulled me over for showing too much skin, says leggy tourist
Quote:

"Miss Rjicken works as the general manager of the Vanmoof bicycle company in Amsterdam."
How convenient.
Quote:

"Miss Rijcken, 31, was not given a ticket following the 'incident.'

She did not get the officer's name"
Because it didn't happen, perhaps?

Quote:
"NYPD Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne responded to Miss Rjicken's claims by saying: 'Whether this story bears even a modest semblance of what actually occurred is impossible to establish without being provided the purported officer's name and getting his side of the story.'"
Quite.

A survey (no details given), from a company that diddles people out of their money by promising to give some of it back, finds that women and men aspire to wasting money in different ways. Various labels are given free publicity.

Quote:
A spokesperson for EuroMillions said: … 'The two lists are fascinating - women seem to love the idea of owning designer fashion items, but have also included a few things which would make their home more stylish.

'Men go straight for the transport and gadgets, wanting the very latest developments in technology and vehicles alike.'

Yeah, that's fascinating, my world is rocked. So, to sum up: men are from Mars, women are from Venus, … and Adam is from the Planet of the Apes:

Quote:
All women really want are a set of cooking utensils (spoons etc) and a good saucepan. There happy then. This is speaking from experience.

I'm glad he gave an example of a cooking utensil. I was struggling with a three-syllable word.

I get the feeling that if Adam could have also inserted a stock photo of a spoon into that comment to further illustrate his point, he would have done. Luckily, Alamy have a photo of a young David Cameron mesmerised by a spoon:

Every little helps! At just £3.60, Tesco launches cheapest school uniform ever

Quote:
"New shoes and a sharp blazer don't come cheap, but thanks to a bargain range from Tesco, you could get your children spruced up with a full set of new wares for as little as £3.60.

Launched yesterday, the value range from the world's third largest retailer offers a one price fits all array of clothing for ages three to 16."

"All of the collection is available in store and on-line."

It's remarkable Tesco are in this thread several times but there is also a Mail vs Tesco thread in the appropriate forum.

Conclusions? The mail doesn't know arse from elbow.

Perhaps Lord Tesco was on time with his protection money this month.

Question to the board.
Name a dish that you can cook on a spoon (apart from Heroin(tm - Bayer))
