Dreadful braying bitch. She somehow manages to be less likeable than the plebs she has to find work for. Plus, her show makes it look like the unemployed just aren't trying hard enough to find work. In some cases, that's true, but how likely would these people be to get the jobs on the show if she hadn't had a quick word with the employers?

I saw the first episode of the current series. A crucial part of the job application process was completely bypassed- applying for the job itself! Midway through the show she told the four jobseekers that she had interviews for them and they were to brush up on interview techniques, presentation etc. The equally important bit of applying for a job and maybe giving them advice on how to make their application forms/CV stand out from 50 other people going for the same job was ignored. No wonder the unemployed are a regular tabloid target- from watching that programme like that it seems all you do is pick a job and an interview is automatically yours! All those type of shows aimed at helping people are unrealistic though. For example, If Dom Littlewood didn't have a cameraman with him and he wasn't a well-known presenter of consumer programmes he wouldn't find getting discounts on goods half as easy.

Also, they made a big thing about the welfare bill being £87bn, very cunningly omitting to say that the largest portion of that is paid in in state pensions not unemployment payments.

I still haven't got the faintest idea who this person is or what she does.

Could we identify the objects of our ire, please?

Hayley Taylor, presenter of C4's Fairy Jobmother. In a nutshell the aim of the show is for her to help unemployed people into work. As with most television shows of this ilk ("experts" helping people) the reality is not as black and white as the programmes like to portray.

Oh.

If she annoys people so much, why do they watch the programme?

Hopefully he's already been included, but Chris Addison, the unfunny twat who appears regularly on Mock The Week is quite punchable.

Would it make sense to accept that "Funny" is a subjective measure.
We could then restrict ourselves to fantasy assaults on comics who've actually done something bad, and made the world a worse place.

Good point, well made. In that case, I'll just punch Addison myself, but for general punching consumption, I'll nominate this twat, based on your criteria:

I've just finished polishing the size 12s and I'd love to join you.

No doubt already been nominated for a face-punching:

And this mad old bint who appeared in the Mail today - pretends to be left wing but is actually like a botoxed version of Thatcher:

Have I done Denis MacShane, yet:

Not just the expenses thing, but a pompous sod who spouts wild figures about sex trafficking then acts like people who question them don't care about the problem.

Everytime he crops up there's some rubbish, like he was trying to get Liam Fox (punchable too) to commit to high levels of defence spending.

Yep, all Labour needs, a big commitment to outspending the Tories on defence.

Same reason I read the Mail, I guess. I like being annoyed. :D

It presents a harmful message because she manages to get people into work with seemingly no effort, making it look as though all unemployed people just aren't trying hard enough. She confirms this viewpoint by ensuring that she ends up coaching a load of ne'er-do-wellers who have never worked but still think they're too good to flip burgers or work behind a till. For example, in the most recent episode, there's a glowering little madam who has never worked but says she won't "stoop herself" to working in McDonalds. There's a dude with a cannabis leaf (poorly) tattooed on his fucking NECK who can't turn up on time for anything. Last week, there was this girl who cried every single time the camera was on her. The week before that, there was a bloke saying that asking him to get a job in anything other than security infringed on his human rights (apparently it's "Thatcher's fault for taking the milk off the kiddies").

I guess it annoys me for two reasons: on one level, I find myself shouting "COME ON, WE'RE NOT ALL LIKE THAT!" at the screen and getting angry at the "See? The unemployed are just lazy, feckless scroungers, all they need is a kick up the arse" message. On the other hand, some of the people they have on there annoy me just as much, partly because they ARE the whiny, entitled, idle twerps that people think of when they think "Unemployed". And that makes my inner outraged DM reader bubble to the surface and I hate myself for it.

Plus, I'm sick of that woman's collection of neck bows. She looks like a bulldog that's been dolled up for a dog show.

Given the scrapping of most floaty stuff, and closure of RAF bases, the Quakers probably spend more on defence than the tories have.

Perhaps for the same reason we browse the Mail's website?

I love a bit of righteous indignation.

Gawd, no - but Murray's mum is also well slappable! She's Cristina Kirchner, Argentine president - been in the Mail a couple of times in the last week for her little rants about the Falklands. The currency's more than halved in value over the last couple of months and she's up for re-election so she's decided to divert attention from the economic fuck up she's caused by screaming "¡MALVINAS!" and blaming it all on immigrants. She's also brought in loads of mad laws to clamp down on the left-wing press, blockaded Paraguayan ports twice, spent shit loads of cash tryign to influence the Uruguayan elections (which makes her look like a bit of a hypocrite when she bitches about the UK being a colonial power that meddles in South American affairs) and did absolutely nothing when riot mobs chased Bolivians, Peruvians and anyone who's a bit brown-looking out of towns accross the country. It's a shame that the UK and Argentina don't get along, 'cos the mailites would absolutely love this woman.
