Check it out on I Player (if you can bear it).

Just as an example, she says she feels that civil servants are all "boring, clock watching paper pushers". Intelligent in-depth reporting I'm sure you'll agree).
Even after meeting a few of them (and calling them those very things in person, whilst they try to defend themselves in very few words without sounding pompous or rude), she still doesn't believe them. And says so in the cab afterwards (just like that bit they do at the end of The Aprentice. See what they did there?)

There's a moment as well where she is talking to a woman at the demonstration, and does the increasingly common "ask an I as a mother" question.
This time asking the woman how she as a mother is supposed to explain to her children why their teachers won't be there, when she has always tried to teach them that hard graft and effort is the way to go through life (paraphrasing a little).

All with seemingly no camera training, and loads of unexplainable hand gestures.

I won't, if it's all right with you.

She played the family card?

Don't blame you.

As for the photo, where's there a paintball gun when you need one?

Great example there of thoughtfull parenting that won't in any way embarrass your children or get them bullied at school for having a filthy mum.

"What did you do at the weekend?"

"...I saw a picture of my mum and dad at it in a field...in a newspaper."

They might as well start calling that university fund a "therapy fund".

No one else see here wade in tonight on the One Show ?

The Beeb and herself had to make it crystal clear several times that it was her view not theirs
Anyway - PH Personified telling them all to get a grip and stop their fking whinging.

Very Good, but shame she wasn't allowed to sit on the sofa and argue / justify it further !

What do you reckon her argumentative technique would be like?

I just watched that clip, the woman is as mad as some hedgehogs in a bag. "Parents would be good at teaching" - with no training or subject knowledge..commonsense innit. So the parent of a couple of toddlers would naturally have the skills to control a group of 30-50 15 year olds? And, as Sanityattack says there's no need for CRB checks cos parents wuve children and would never harm one - except for all the parents who have been convicted of just that.

Now we know where J Arthur Rank lost his gong.

I was reminded of nuclear proliferation advocate Lady Olga Maitland.
Both in the style and delivery, and also in the obvious "Making it up as we go along" approach to policy.

We don't need CRB checks if they're only there for 3 or 4 hours.
How I wish I'd been conducting that interview.

Dear points of view, why or why did your interviewer ask the Real Education lady how long she thought it would take for a paedoto bum a schoolchild?
3 or 4 hours seems sufficient for a couple of bummings and a game of pool in the staffroom.

There IS no argument - she knows what she's talking about because she got a bit far through The Apprentice one year...and has children...and ran her own buisness.

Like that I imagine.

Been watching Newsnight and this bloke came up:

Image

He's a Tory MP called George Eustice and probably isn't particularly bad. But he's just appeared on Newsnight with a Dutch Green politician discussing the EU budget. While the latter made all sorts of sensible points about renewable energy, regulating banks, foreign policy. Our common sense Briton, egged on by Paxo, did "the EU has failed", "these are matters for national governments", "not living in the real world" and "we don't want to give more money to the EU".

Clearly the Dutch guy was the outlandish loon.

No Eustice is a prick of the highest order, he is the MP for Camborne & Redruth utter arsehole, not only did he run for UKIP in the Euro's in 1999 he was a former press secretary of David Cameron. His articles in the local press would always include either in 1 or 2 of the first three paragraphs the old favourite "that they needed to clean up the mess made by the previous government" also according to his Wikipedia he was Campaign Secretary for Anti Euro No campaign (Couldn't of been that successful, as I've never heard of it).

His family also own Trevaskis Fruit Farm, funny that we always had adverts for them in the Job Centre, continous turn over of staff because they were pretty shit employers, I always remember they employed quite a few immigrants, there was only one farm in the area that did not but of course all the farms were owned by Tory party members (some were actually UKIP) and they were all anti European funny that.

That doesn't surprise me.

He's another one who ran against the Tory party? They really value loyalty, don't they? Those who put the hours in when the party were a dead duck must wonder why they bothered. Another who did that is

Priti Patel.

She of the "I support capital punishment, but don't have a view how it should be done". Recent hobby horses have included people we're paying for doing union work. These are agreed as part of negotiations. If they were banned, the union would presumably want something in return. And some rhubarb over a film that might be nasty about Mrs Thatcher "made with taxpayers money". I assume she'll be equally outspoken about the chance of a state funeral.

Eustice is a big talker of shit, isn't he?

http://www.prweek.com/uk/news/opinion/1 ... s-dilemma/

Ed Milliband has "opportunistic instincts", "unsustainable level of public pensions", "hardline union leaders". Apparently because Labour changed public sector pensions before, it's being unprincipled in not supporting these changes too.

He obviously thinks he's saying something tactically very smart as well.

A positive is that it is a swing seat that was Labour's back when they were popular, Jude Robinson who will probably run next time is a counciller in that ward and is very popular. It's a marginal seat and Jude would be a very good Mp.
