Christmas in JULY? The festive countdown begins 151 days early as Harrods opens grotto complete with Santa, elves and snow

Unmoderated, so get your "I thought Christmas was banned" comments in early.

This is just wrong. We all know when Christmas is, we don't need it forcing upon us in JULY for gods-sake!! There should be a law: Keep Christmas in DECEMBER!!!

Not as unmoderated as you would hope, my comments on the banning of Christmas never appeared (although this may have been something to do with Richard, Florida asking Wen to order up 6 lbs of sausagemeat and a bucket of bread crumbs on the moderated advert for Waitrose ostrich eggs - no email confirmation yet though)

Woman's breast cancer is discovered... after she develops addiction to LETTUCE

Book sales must be flagging, as back in 2009.
Today, with Elsie's cancer firmly in remission, he's collated more than 100 of these in his new book, The Body Language Of Health. Here, in this exclusive extract, we explain some of the baffling or seemingly innocuous body language signs and their possible meanings.

In lieu of a thread entitled "Utter Bollocks", this one can go here:

From 'Cole Cappuccino' to 'Katona Karrot'... Pippa Middleton's 'Royal Mocha' leads the celebrity tan tone scale as the most desirable shade in Britain

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/artic ... itain.html

One look at the headline and I knew this was going to be PR, so let's have a look.

Quote:
Miss Middleton's glow has been named the most desirable skin tone by a new study which discovered the most and least desirable celebrity tans of 2011.

Hmmm, was this study done by professors at Oxford or Cambridge I wonder.

Arrrrrrggggghhhhh! Again, I repeat my request for the head/wall emoticon. OK, let's just get to the PR:

Quote:
The research, commissioned to mark the launch of TV channel Really on Freeview, also found that the average British woman will spend £29,400 during their lifetime on a strict summer grooming regime.

That is the equivalent of the annual cost of living for a family with two children in the UK.

Really TV’s Channel Head, Clare Laycock, said: ‘Our study shows that while it’s tempting to go overboard on the beach or with fake tan, this August a more natural colour is most popular.

‘We all know people who come back from the salon more tangoed than tanned – now they have the perfect tan-tone chart to guide them on their tan choices for the summer.’

The Really Buff Boutique pop-up salon is offering a range of free beauty treatments to the public from 2 to 5 August and has installed the world’s first tan-tone window display to celebrate the launch of the new TV channel.

Brought to you by "journalist" Jessica Satherly, who is evidently pretty handy with the 'copy' and 'paste' functions. R.I.P. journalism.

Especially ironic since Satherley's CV boasts that she has a bachelor's degree in journalism, albeit from New Zealand's least reputed university. Buff the Banana pisstake here.

Latest post on Buff the Banana:
Quote:
"When Daily Mail hack Holly Thomas opened her copy of Vibe magazine to find a series topless Kelly Rowland shots, she knew she had the day’s top news story.

Lucky for Holly Thomas, the magazine’s PR team were more than happy to share a selection fo Kelly Rowland topless shots with banana buffing Daily Mail readers in return for some free publicity. Holly Thomas reckons the topless shots illustrate Kelly Rowland’s attempt to appeal to a more ‘adult fanbase’."

The FeMail section of the DM's website neatly summarised in three sentences. Brilliant.

Going underground: The massive European network of Stone Age tunnels that weaves from Scotland to Turkey

German archaeologist Dr Heinrich Kusch said evidence of the tunnels has been found under hundreds of Neolithic settlements all over the continent.
In his book - Secrets Of The Underground Door To An Ancient World - he claims the fact that so many have survived after 12,000 years shows that the original tunnel network must have been enormous.

It's not often you see that much shitfuckery in one headline.

A survey by a loyalty card has pinpointed the happiest hour of the year. Don't read the article, it's nonsense.

Finding a picture for 'Tomorrow evening at 7pm' couldn't have been easy, so the Mail settled for:

Happiness is a demure smile and the memory of a manicure. Apparently.

In the sidebar there are also stories lifted from InStyle, Glamour and Harper's Bazaar, plus name-checks for Vogue, GQ and of course Playboy.

The Daily Mail: #1 for churning crap from style/porn magazines.
