Hoggart's sketch raises an interesting point: perhaps behaviour on the Tory benches of this sort might open a few LibDem eyes to the true nature of the sort of people they are currently allied with.

Clegg did come out with phrase this morning about 'the scales falling from peoples eyes'. More fitting than he intended, methinks.

Alistair Darling to expose 'brutal and volcanic' Gordon Brown in explosive memoir

Quote:
We all know only too well all about Brown's utter incompetence, vast waste of other people's money and dreadful dark deeds as Chancellor and then as PM; we also know all about his appallingly defective personality. Sadly, Darling, like all the rest of the disordered bunch was too weak and ineffectual and is just as responsible for the mess left behind as his batty boss. Balls and Miliband are the real heirs to Brown and are themselves knee deep in all the dreadful downside of the worst Premiership ever inflicted on this benighted land.

Between Blair and Brown I don't think we can expect this country to bounce back to the Great Britain it was in the past. Those days have gone, and gone for good. It took just 13 years for Brown to absolutely destroy us as a nation. Who is going to help us now?

Let all those hysterical, rabid left-wing Labour-loving inadequates try to 'spin' their way out of this latest revelation, (for revelation read confirmation), about how Labour, Brown in particular aided and abetted by Balls, got Britain in such a Catastrophic Financial Mess, the Country has never seen before in the whole of Britain's and the UK's history,,,,!!! And this latest gut-wrenching, eye-opener does not put Balls in such a good position,,,,,,,,,,,,,does it,,,,??? Adenoidal Red Ed' , are you listening,,,,??? Balls for Shadow Chancellor,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,??? YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED BY A MEMBER OF YOUR OWN PARTY

Could people please stop referring to Brown as the Prime Minister? He wasn't, and never was. Brown usurped the job from Blair, who meekly stepped aside to pursue his love of money. The country didn't vote for Brown, he bottled out of that, and labour certainly didn't. That's because his contempt for democracy was every bit as strong as his obsession with getting into No10. As a result, the entire country is the price. He was a disaster for the three years he was squatting in No 10, and he was a disaster for the previous 10 years he in No 11. Iron Chancellor? Do me a favour. Even when he eventually HAD to call an election, he couldn't summon the grace to simply admit defeat. He had to hold on until the last possible second. And now, as a backbench MP, he can rarely be bothered to turn up. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Darling's 'revelations' turn out to be true.

How were we ever duped into giving even one vote to these low lifes, we could have gone into a jail and taken convicted criminals out and they would have done a better job and probably in a more honest way. We must make sure that none of these sad excuses for human beings ever holds a position of power in our government again!!!

Conservative party chairman Sayeeda Warsi said the revelations were proof that key Labour figures put party infighting above the nation’s interests.

‘Alistair Darling’s memoirs should give Ed Miliband some concerns about Ed Balls’ suitability to be shadow chancellor,’ she said.

‘Ed Balls recently claimed that he “did his politics on the record”, but he has already been shown to have been at the heart of the plot to oust Tony Blair.

‘Now Alistair Darling accuses him of running a shadow treasury operation within his own government. No wonder Labour left the nation’s finances in such a mess when they put party political plotting above the national interest.’

Wait one minute Baroness Warsi didn't David Cameron employ a man who basically gave the go ahead to hack dead kids phones? People in Glass Houses perhaps?

That'll be Warsi the clown who is played like a piano by her puppet-masters, whose grotesque self-serving ambition is always placed about national interests. Falling out with people you once shared a vision with is utterly dismal but not quite on her level. She would do anything and say anything if it advanced her position. When she is on Question Time or Any Questions she can barely manage to repeat the mantra she has been fed to memorise and when challenged trots out another chant. She has both feet firmly in 'sell your own grandmother' territory.

Definite recommended read of this piece by the ever perceptive Jonathan Freedland :
