Of course, they won't drop the whole 'benefits boy' thing; the minute he appears in politics the mail will shine a big spotlight on him. If they didn't like him they wouldn't give him attention (c.f. hacking scandal), but they love him! They've already invested time and energy into turning him into a character, and that's all the mail's political commentary is; they rely on characters, stereotypes, gross exaggerations and mis-representations of people. Their description of him as 'benefits boy' will be one that they will recall in six months time as fact in any articles they write about him.

Her "speech about values" seemed to be saying you shouldn't junk your manifesto to get into government. How that is incompatible with dressing up as a French maid at a party, God only knows.

Wow she went out and enjoyed herself with friends? Now that is pathetic it's not like she's been caught with a call girl domantrix and a line of coke in front of her like some others who will be speaking this week.

I guess this was the important news they kept mentioning when they tried to keep the Phone Hacking Scandal off their front pages.

Compare and contrast with the Mail's critique of Rory Weal.

To borrow from Tories of old, is he thinking what I think he's thinking?

That's a fine English name. All the boys I went to school with were called, John, Christopher, Paul, Stephen, David, Robert and Andrew. Did I miss something in my not very posh grammer school?

All of them? Rotherham must have a really small pool of male first names.

And Howard must have stood out like a sore thumb. I bet he got bullied for not being called John, Christopher, Paul etc.

John and David = Hebrew
Christopher, Stephen and Andrew = Greek
Paul = Latin
Robert = German

Howard = Scandinavian (meaning "throbbing penis")

Are you sure Robert's Greek? I though all the -bert names were Frankish.

Sorry that's a typo, it should say German.
According to http://www.babynames.co.uk/meaning_orig ... Robert.htm
