Can everyone stop bashing "office workers". I am an office worker and get to travel with my job plus, go overseas on conferences, receive lots of perks in terms of products (as i work for a large cosmetic co) plus many many more good things. We "office workers" might work the hours but, there are MANY amazing jobs that are office based! Just because our job isn't the actual bit where you're in the air serving customers, we are in MANY ways doing fun and eventful things. i could have been an air hostess but no, i chose to work a little harder so i can have an "office" job but the best bit is, I GET TO TRAVEL AS PART OF MY JOB and an even better bit is, I GET PAID A HELL OF A LOT MORE THAN A HOSTIE WITH THE SAME EXCITEMENT!!!

Actually Mummytoan, you are so wrong. Whilst I can't speak for Kate, I certainly never had a desire to push a trolley up and down a plane because I can't see how that can be viewed as glamorous. You see, I worked hard enough at school and university so that I could afford to pay for the first class ticket to travel myself and so that I could be waited on hand and foot by the hostess rather than having to become one. Glamour to me is being in control of your work life not being subject to serving food and drink in high altitudes in unattractive uniforms. The last time I had to wear a uniform was at school!

I know several cabin crew. Maybe their profession would be taken more seriously if the majority didn't drink and party to excess, sleep around and generally behave like primadonnas.
