I think we can assumed that this 'Andrew Davies' guy works for the daily mail?

Indeed he does.

http://journalisted.com/andrew-davies

He got this puff published in 2010.

I wonder how much an ad like that costs?

Odd that that article doesn't have any byline - not even "A Daily Mail Reporter".

However, the book is "written" by Andrew Davies.

And as already commented, this article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/artic ... s-60s.html was by Andrew Davies, and discussed a book "written" by Andrew Davies.

Hmmm. Wonder who wrote today's article? Any bets on Dandrew Avies?

(Amazon reveals a little about AD : "About the Author
Andrew Davies has written a variety of humour books for Anova including When I Were A Lad (with sales now in excess of 100,000), When I Were A School Lad (2010) and When I Were A Nipper (2011). He is also the ghost writer for Ivor Grump, in the Grumpy Handbook series and sometimes doubles as Captain William Featherstone-Dawes, author of Those Were The Days: Golf and Those Were The Days: Football. He has written on a variety of subjects including cat and dog body language and is the author of the National Trust's popular introductory guide to beekeeping." Looks like stereotypical - "success with one book - keep rehashing it" - sort of hack.)

A 99p bra you say? Chance for a bit of PR and pictures of a girl in a bra? Why yes, we'll have some of that!

Paid for by Tesco? Or a quid pro quo for a big lump of advertising revenue?

Model Lucy Cusack claims she would wear the bra to work - and in the bedroom

But not in the kitchen, sitting-room, garden or street presumably.

99p Stores have no connection with Tescos of which I'm aware Malcolm. Or have I missed something?

Colonel Sanders has a new secret: KFC discovers an unpublished recipe book written by the Colonel over 40 years ago
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... s-ago.html

Quote:
The secret blend of herbs and spices, one of the most enduring corporate secrets in American food folklore, is not revealed in the manuscript, KFC executives say.
But on these pages are his personal recipes for omelets, pancakes, casseroles, pies and many more dishes that he said reflected his affinity for 'real old-time country and farm cooking.' It offers up a range of main dishes, side dishes, desserts and sauces.

Quote:
'We're in the early stages of testing recipes and are excited about the potential to incorporate some of the newly discovered dishes alongside the Colonel's Original Recipe on menus around the globe,' Mr Eaton added.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2064208/Groupon-baker-nearly-ruined-bargain-hunters-flock-75-web-deal.html

While on the face of it this story seems to be knocking Groupon it actually gives the company extra exposure especially has there is a big section at the end explaining how it works. The owner of the shop claims to have lost a years worth of profits but if the shop was really doing so well why was she having to discount her products by 75%? The owner of the shop is pictured in front of the shop window providing her with loads of free publicity.
