I'm not sure if this piece by some cleric called Mullen is a spoof article or not!! "Rabble?" I've read it a second time and can't decide!! Presumably if Jesus of Nazareth had been around with twelve of his rabble, he would have been asked to "move on, sunshine!" and he certainly would not have been allowed to overturn the table of the moneylenders in the temple. Mullen obviously misses this rather important point. As of course he would, as the resemblance is too close for the clerical mind to contemplate. This current "rabble" is against war, greed, capitalism and poverty, and I recall that the Nazareth bloke, in his more vocal moments, seemed to be against the same thing. Additionally, the first and time I visited this cathedral I was struck by the number of monuments, plaques and statutary that blatantly glorified war, the soldier and diverse military campaigns. Either Mullen is a very good satirist and should be writing for Private Eye, or else he's a complete fool.
