Of course not! Abstinence, marrige, monogamy. These only need to practiced by the orders.

She's dropped her latest attempt.

I don't know if withdrawal has a higher success rate than abstinence, but I suppose it's a step in the right direction.

She (or someone claiming to be her) is now Tweeting that the bill hasn't been dropped. Doesn't stand any chance of proceeding, though, as it's at #8 on the order paper.

The thought that such an outstandingly stupid woman is drawing an MP's salary and expenses and I'm paying for it makes me feel positively Mailite.

Far from dumb (at least on this occasion). This is a wrecking amendment. It gives him the right to speak and for as long as he wants, so that the bill gets timed out and has to return later, or not at all. It also has the effect of killing all bills below it on the order paper, of course. At the end of the day's business (2.30pm on a Friday) the list of outstanding bills will be read out and a single member shouting 'object' (that's usually Christopher Chope) causes it to fall.

The official reason for the withdrawal.

I don't know about anyone else here, but I had no idea that our beloved Nad was so keen on conserving the environment.

So couldn't he think of something worthwhile to talk about? Being so clever and all that?

This isn't likely to go down very well in Somerset North East, I should think. It's parliament as a game.

Yup.
But as someone said on Twitter today - people complain about politicians playing politics - but what game do we expect them to play?

Yes. Bit like "playing God" which is usually bandied about when some highly significant advance in genetics or some other field of medical science is made.

Was God "playing" when he was doing his old 7 day creation stuff?

Probably. Apart from the fact that He wasn't even there.

Nad's now back on Twitter - she just can't let it lie. I'm following her to catch the next bit of online twattery.

Did anyone else see her on The Big Question this morning, having apparently been drafted in for the debate "Is sex education harming our kids?"?

I might've sat through it to heckle if it wasn't a double whammy combination of TBQ and Mad Nad. As it was, I'd just come downstairs and she wasn't the first thing I felt like switching on (I think she got as far as "Well, that's what my bill would have..." before I channel-hopped away) - but I know there're often a few people around here watching these things so the rest of us don't have to.

What I want to know is where the hell does the daft cow get the idea from that they don't teach abstinence in sex ed? The few hours (about 4 or 5 in total) I had at school made a really big thing about saying no and waiting until you are ready as well as how to put condoms on and what other contraceptive methods there were. If someone had tried the "it's your job to say no, 'cause you have a vagina" my teenage self would have told them to fuck off. My adult self would still tell them to fuck off, and if anyone tries it on my daughter (should I have one) I'll tell her to tell them to fuck off. So fuck off Dories.

It's a good thing this got dropped or I'd have written to my MP to complain.

The thing is Nad is of the opinion that her idea of "when you're ready" should be the benchmark (i.e. when married) as opposed to people making an informed choice on their own. It's a peculiar thing that the parrty which most moans about the "Nanny State" is so keen to stick its nose in on matters like this.
