It goes back to Achilles and Hector. Quite literally the adding of insult to injury.

'Strict Muslim' raped four women at knifepoint to 'punish them for being on the streets at night'

There are a few comments questioning the Mail's decision to mention the attacker's religion in the headline, but how on earth did this (the top-rated comment) make it past the moderators?

'Are you married?': Pakistani TV host dubbed the 'vigil-auntie' sacked after haranguing couples for 'immoral behaviour' in parks

Why would the Mail be running a story about an obscure celebrity from a television channel few have heard of?

Oh:
Quote:
In that backward medieval country the presenter was surely puting the innocents in the park at risk of retribution from those who follow the barbarous faith that dominates Pakistan?

What utterly vile and nasty comments. Not directly aimed at their faith but more casual racism.

Four radical Muslims planned launching a 'Mumbai-style' attack on London, targeting the Stock Exchange, Boris Johnson and the U.S Embassy

If they planned to target the American Embassy I say hand them over to the US government they'll punish them far greater than what our cushy 5 star resort prisons will.

Yeah! Hang somebody for plotting to kill people! That's the hallmark of a decent society.

Sorry they aren't white enough - you bunch of racist cunts.

The level of bloodlust is incredible - despite the charges against them they haven't actually killed anyone. Yet this people deserve hanging? Perspective is needed here. Yet, we get the usual racism of going home to their original country despite being born here and how ugly they are because their skin is different.

Another dog whistle to the BNP

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2096263/The-Mecca-city-In-London-street-faithful-way-pray-mosque-overflows.html

If you put the name of the street into google it's pretty clear that loads of right wing groups have pasted the Mail story on their websites and blogs.

Dog whistle indeed and it sadly works. The readers ignore the fact it's Friday prayers and the mosque can only hold 100 people and when more arrive they come onto the streets. Prayers last an hour - no big deal.

Women either pray separately or behind the men. Clearly you never paid attention in R.E. It's a fundamental basic of Islam. - I'm not even to comment on the other high ranking green arrows but when we look at the red arrows we see how insular the right are.

The comments on this article are utterly shocking! "Is this England?" Yes, of course it is England. Comments are vile.
I've no time for any religious superstition, but these are just perfectly decent people going about their legitimate business, quietly and without fuss.

So the Mailtards have to show their 'wit' and 'humour'.

I am far from convinced they would have stopped praying to let someone move their car.

Our local traffic wardens have entirely given up ticketing cars outside the mosque because they are routinely assaulted. I wish I could say it was otherwise, but I cannot. Day in and day out cars park on every inch of pavement and double park across the whole width of the road, always coinciding with prayers. It's been done to death so many times in the local paper that even they've stopped running the story.

Religion brings out the worst in people and large crowds are never very sane.

That's pretty different from my experience - and prayers are held about 75m from my house.

I don't think clobbering traffic wardens is behaviour unique to Islam.

Nor do I.

I do know that we've had masses of tension dragging on for the last few years over car parking issues though and that it has resulted in a number of brawls in the street. I was on a bus not long ago when the driver was threatened because he lost his cool when the road was blocked for an eternity. I think it is primarily down to a lot of young men feeling got at by society as a whole and refusing to believe that this is actually about traffic problems. Which it is, most of the time. It is also a gift to local bigots, of which there are plenty.

We also have had a lot of the other sorts of things the Mail like to rant about - including a rabbi being spat on at an inter-faith event, advertising hoardings painted over and girls assaulted in the street over their clothing choices. Also topical is the forced conversion of Hindu girls and the tit-for-tat reprisals this stirs up. Its not an urban legend, it happens on my street all year round. Oh yeah, and a local madrassa featured in a documentary a while back, when they were filmed beating very young kids for not learning the Koran by rote.

We've got some serious culture clashes going on and the whole mess keeps getting misappropriated by various groups with ugly agendas. I for one would gladly see the back of all religion tomorrow as it stirs up so much poison and does so much harm. We need to educate and teach critical thinking skills but as things stand previously integrated communities are self-segregating at a terrifying rate.

I am pretty anti religion, however no one has the right to interfere with the private lives of adults when those private lives don't interfere with yours.
