I often like to tune in to Any Questions and Any Answers on a Saturday. It goes well with a relaxed lunch and a sit down with a cuppa.

On today's Any Answers there were quite a few callers supporting Mr Bone and his stance on prayers in council meetings. Also, one total fuck-nugget who was blind to reason (quelle surprise). This chap was given masses of air time to ramble on and on, failing to make a point but cramming a lot of petulant bleating in.

GREAT!

How deliciously ironic, when people harm their own silly cause through trying to fight for it.

Not for nothing is the programme known in some quarters as "Any Fascists?".

It does act as a magnet for the deranged and bewildered. Every week there's at least one who gets through and immediately forgets what they wanted to say and another, who says hello, then pauses, has to be told to speak, and then they have to double check that they should go ahead now.
My personal favourite was at the time of the British sailors taken hostage by the Iranian navy. A Mailite ranter demanded that we should nuke Iran immediately. Dimbleby very calmly and patiently explained that this would make Britain a pariah, would be seen as a war crime by the world and provoke retaliation from the UN. El Dickhead then said we had plenty of missiles if anyone "wanted to have a go". So essentially Britain should instigate a nuclear war against the rest of the world, thus ensuring our certain destruction. All over half a dozen sailors who, if memory serves me right, were stupid enough to get caught where they shouldn't be in the first place.
