Some bastard's nicked his Caps key, as well. Or is he just a bit thick? I don't think he should be smeared unless there is clear evidence of functional illiteracy...

How long before the Mail picks up on this? Just the sort of thing to get the blue rinse brigade soiling their bloomers.

George Osborne accuses BBC of fuelling anti-business culture in Britain

Quote:
The Chancellor compared the broadcaster to the women who used to gather to watch the execution of aristocrats during the French Revolution.

The accusation came during an interview on BBC Radio Four’s Today programme after Britain was warned that its credit rating may be downgraded.

Mr Osborne mounted a strong defence of the Government’s pro-business credentials before accusing the publicly-funded broadcaster of undermining the economy.

In reference to the carts using to carry condemned prisoners to their death during the French Revolution, he said: “The BBC is often in the front row of the tumbrils, doing its knitting…We have got to celebrate business in this country.”

He claimed that the “only story” you hear reported about business is often the “relentless diet” of items about how “we are being ripped off by every company in Britain.”

Perhaps he thinks the BBC should be like that old Victoria Wood sketch (quoting from memory).

BBC wins Supreme Court battle after spending hundreds of thousands of pounds of licence fee payers' money to keep report on its 'biased' journalism a secret

Quote:
A spokesman for the BBC said: ‘The BBC has always maintained that the report was held for the purposes of journalism, art or literature and was therefore not disclosable under the Act.'

The Mail might have trouble using this defence.

BBC wins in court and is at fault anyway.

Quote:
The decision will disappoint the Jewish community which would have wanted to know whether the document had found any evidence of anti-Israeli bias in news programming.

Jewish= pro-Israel, as ever.

From the BBC

Quote:
Mr Sugar believed Orla Guerin, the BBC's former Middle East correspondent, was biased against Israel. She was accused of anti-Semitism in 2004 by the Israeli government.

That anti-semitism in full:

Quote:
In her report on Hussam Abdu last week, Guerin noted Israel's desire to gain a public relations advantage from the arrest. She described how the army "paraded the child in front of the international media", and observed that journalists had been prevented from asking him questions and therefore were left only with the army's account of the arrest.

Mr Sharansky alleged that the BBC reporter "cast aspersions on the meaning of what transpired" that amounted to "such a gross double standard to the Jewish state, it is difficult to see Ms Guerin's report as anything but anti-semitic".

Pathetic stuff.

I despise a lot of what Israel does, and the same goes for anti-semitic wankers.

Masterchef is edited? FFS.

Reminds me of this:

Quote:
HOMER
Uh, I guess. Is this episode going on the air live?

BELLAMY
No, Homer. Very few cartoons are broadcast live, it's a terrible strain on the animators' wrists.

This could also be in the Headline v Story thread:
Quote:
BBC pays £1.8million legal bill to help keep stars' pay confidential

In the report:
Quote:
The payments made to Baker & McKenzie include £12,000 for advice on preventing the NAO disclosing the salaries of senior BBC presenters.

Y'know, it would be easy to suspect some of the comments there were prepared with the article by a dedicated team of toadies within Day Care Towers...

Give it rest DM! - Jack, BBC-Bashing Monitoring Team., 19/2/2012 11:56 ****************************************************************************************** I see the BBC loving left wing totalitarian trolls have discovered this article and they pile in like sheep desperate to defend their Labour luvvin BBC. Still, all the while the BBC pumps out the left wing bias and the more the BBC luvvies flock to defend it, the more the public will realise what an expensive, bloated mess the BBC has become and demand changes to it's finance and operations. Keep defending the BBC, suckers, because it will get split apart one day.

That's a major irony/inability to see anagrams fail...
