Like all good sad faced stories you can save an awful lot of time by skipping to the end of the article to find that the fine has now been dropped. So actually they should have a picture of her smiling rather than looking like someone has just had a shit in her handbag.

Why is that in any way relevant to anything in the entire article.

8/10. One point deducted for failing the PLU test by being Welsh or living in Wales.

Just spotted these two paragraphs from the wales-on-line version of the story.

Quote:
Nearly 1,000 fixed penalty notices have been issued by security company XFOR on behalf of Blaenau Gwent Council since October 2011.

Mr George said his wife was “over the moon” when a member of the council informed them they would no longer be pursuing the matter.

So it wasn't a council jobs-worth it was a private contractor and she was 'over the moon' when the fine was dropped.

That can't be right: only civil servant pen-pushers are jobsworths; private enterprise is always efficiently creating wealth.

Don't be so harsh. It was probably her dream to be put in the Daily Mail.

They definitely missed a trick not including a sad face in this one.

Schoolgirl, 10, takes cocaine in playground after finding drug dealer's stash in Pringles tube

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2110055/Schoolgirl-10-takes-cocaine-playground-finding-drug-dealers-stash-Pringles-tube.html

We need a playground shot with the schoolgirl posing with the offending bag of charlie, whilst a headteacher or guardian stands indignantly in the background. Thankfully they did include an image of a pack of pringles.

Image

Pretty difficult to tell if the pringles guy is sad or not

Let's see if this gets in...

In all seriousness though, what 10 year old thinks its a good idea to go rubbing mysterious white powder into their gums?
It seems Donald from Watford agrees with me.

Genuinely difficult to tell wether he's suggesting the dealer or the girl should be hitting the slammer. One for 'Compassion, Mail Readers style!'

Pretty clear that he wants the 10 year-old prosecuted and more.
Not sure what that means, perhaps the stocks, public branding?

Because it has been well proved over the years that draconian penalties work so well to reduce drug abuse.

The Pringles guy does look a bit sad.

At least he's not buzzed to fuck, hauling us off to bed and reaching for the toybox. Small mercies, and all that.

Go test that theory by openly taking some drugs in a police station. See how 'non existent' the war on drugs really is.

Taking drugs isn't an offence, and once you've taken them I don't think you can be done for possession.

Conflicted on this one.

Fashion student, 22, takes on Tesco after they used her face on a children’s jumper without permission

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/artic ... ssion.html

The hand behind the head pose is certainly unorthodox. But extra marks must be awarded for holding up the offending article--which itself features a picture of her sadfacing. A very postmodern take on the sadface.

Image

Possible PLU failure in that she's studying a Mickey Mouse degree. 'Fashion Management?' You wanna learn a trade sweetheart.

Well she is a fashion student (sort of) so I can forgive the avant-garde pose. But the face is more perplexed than sad and I can't let that pass. 3/10 (for holding up the offending article and being a hot girl)
