There is a growing rumour that the BBC's (and others') failure to report on NHS protests is because a DA Notice has been issued.

If so, that is a very serious assault on the fundamentals of democracy and the right of the individual to know what is happening in his or her country.

I don't begin to understand how, if that is true, a DA notice could be remotely justified with respect to NHS protests?

I mean, where on earth is the threat to national security?

So no logical explanation, then? A DA notice is of course by its very nature so discreet as to be invisible, but again, you can only conclude that if one were being deployed in relation to protests in respect of the Health and Social Care Bill, that would indeed have profound implications for our liberty.

I'm disinclined to lend that notion much credence, TBH.

British democracy in action. This is a total farce.

Conservative and Liberal Democrat ministers have "banged" the table at a cabinet meeting to mark the impending passing of the coalition's NHS reforms into law, Downing Street has said.

The Health and Social Care Bill, for England, has had a difficult passage through Parliament but was finally passed by the House of Lords on Monday.

The government hopes it will now enter law by Easter.

A Downing Street spokesman said "cross-party" celebrations had taken place.

2015 can't come soon enough. Christ, I really despise the Lib Dems.

I'd dearly love to bang Clegg's head against a table, repeatedly.

Why is it I can't get the image of the banging the table in Schindler's List out of my head?

Lib Dems just voted down a delay to the NHS Bill until the risk register is published. So much for Freedom of Information and the Lib Dems.

Do they not realise their every move is being scrutinised? This is the most attention they will ever get. Where is it going? I think it has to be some form of group hysteria.

They really don't see how utterly, utterly fucked they are, do they?

Everyone know the Tories are cunts, including the Tories. They just don't care because they're in it for themselves and if the money keeps coming there is nothign more to consider. But the LibDems were voted for because of principles. Their core voters are from an entirely different tranche of society and they will never vote for them again, regardless of how much they keep on with the business as usual routine.

I really can see UKIP getting parity, or overtaking them. The LibDems somehow seem to think they'll get 10% more than they will.

Lords and MPs connections to the "Health Industry".

If this were the Phillipines, a Gulf Emirate, or a Central African state we'd laugh, tut and mutter that you "can't trust these forrins".

10.18pm: The House of Commons has now passed the Lords' amendment to the Health and Social Care Bill by 324 votes to 236, giving the government a majority of 88 and bringing an end to the health debate for today at least.

Fuckers.

Serious question; what have we done to deserve this?

On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being "fine" and 10 being "completely and irreversibly", how fucked are we?
